We arrived and were seated at 4:15 pm on a Sunday. The restaurant was understandably busy. We waited 10 min and flagged our waiter, he said to us "im just bringing this table a beer and ill be right back to take your order." He brought the other tables beer, turned around and walked away. We flagged him a second time 5 min later. He nodded our way. Took a different tables order (who already had food) and then again walked away. We called him over 1 more time where we were ignored again. It had now been 30 minutes and we hadn't even been served a glass of water. I spoke with a woman by the register. She came and followed me upstairs. Apologised and took our drink order. The drinks came and then the same waiter who had ignored us for a half hour then came and asked "you guys ordered yet?" .....obviously not....so we ordered with him.
The food came relatively quickly and was fine. Overly salted and nothing special.
At the end of the meal as members of my table had stepped outside for a cigarette, one of the other waiters came and said "alright now? Did he (speaking about one person at the table) eat enough now? Did he quit complaining?? " "ενταξει? Εφαγε καλα?? Φούσκωσε και σταματησε την γκρίνια?" Completely insulting and ridiculous. As i answered him and pointed out all their mistakes and how wrong he was he turned his back to me and walked away.
Completely unacceptable. 0 responsibility taken. 0 effort made to make the situation better and then to have the audacity to speak to a paying customer like that. I wouldn't have left a review if that waiter didnt make a comment like that. I understand its a busy day, but make an effort to at least take some drink orders and bring a bottle of water. Even if the food takes a while to come out thats fine, at least let us order instead of ignoring us for over a half hour.
And i submit this review in English in the hopes that any tourists read it and avoid this poorly run, and...
Read moreWhere do I begin? Well let’s just cut a long story short.. if you fancy a 1kg (1000g) of lamb chops inclusive of bone weight cooked - a platter (well a small-medium plate actually) which I could have easily devoured alone might I add then you better get your loan agreed by your bank prior to visiting this restaurant. €34 for 1000g of cooked lamb chops on the bone, mostly bone is a little shocking to even us tourists! I ordered 2kg for 4 people - we cleared it up and steam cleaned the bones in a matter of minutes. The left overs could have easily been sent to the local museum for restoring the mammal eaten. €68 for 2kg of lamb chops!!!! Yet the place was packed with locals in a non-touristic town eating twice as much as we had with extra meat and main courses.. I am still trying to get over the shock a week later! One could accept being ripped off on a tourist bound island but in a small town deep in Attica it’s s strange to say the least. I could go on rammbling with colourful adjectives for longer but my blood pressure is slowing rising - a truly traumatic experience. I for one shall not be visiting this place anytime soon or to be more precise within the remaining years of my life on this planet and I certainly wont be recommending it to anyone I know! It’s a shame because the service was reasonable and other dishes on the menu were also quite good with fair prices. Unfortunately people who eat at these places expect to dine on lamb hence my overall 3 star review. Had the rest not been reasonable I wouldn’t of hesitated to review it...
Read moreHere you will find huge quantities per portion almost double than other taverns. I used to like this place a lot because I think that providing big portions is a proof of respect to the customer. I have been visiting this place for 10 years now and I noticed some changes I do not like. 1. Prices raised gradually as high as the portions reaching today the unacceptable in my opinion 3.5€ for a bottle of water. There should be free tap water on the table and the bottled should be only upon request option. 2. We were charged 20€ for one portion of kontosouvli which was indeed for 4 persons but since prices are now so high maybe they should adjust the portions and the prices to be more reasonable for less people 3. In the beginning there was 1 plate for free (as a compliment) every now and then that sadly has nowadays completely stopped. 4. The portions of the free dessert yogurt in the end has become very small even smaller than in other restaurants. Overall we paid 85€ which is way above average for 2 persons. To be fair the food tastes good but certainly not aligned with the value for money experience I had the first time I visited this place...
