Grandma's Cafe Resto Bar Serifos — Restaurant in Municipality of Serifos

Amazingly low value for money! The good ones first. Obviously the location and quite polite and quick service. That is the only reason for the second star. Regarding the food, everything is frozen!!! I can cope with frozen shrimps and octopus but frozen burger and pizza…!!! Salads were mediocre at best but the burgers were awful, not even sure what was the meat from… To be fair it is marked correctly as frozen on the menu but then they also charge 15 euros for each one of them. We paid 103 euros for a meal of 4 and 2 of them are children. It’s a free market and they can charge as they wish but with this kind of money you get elsewhere delicious FRESH food… and beautiful location as well… EDIT: as I am “accused” by the owner of not being honest because we ate most of the food. Of course we ate it because we were hungry after a day on the beach. That does not mean we found it tasteful or worth its very high price. Appreciate the response and the offer to make amends but the burgers were still awful… Lastly, yes, I only have 6 negative reviews… but I have visited thousands of restaurants in my life… that should worry the owner even more instead of “accusing” me of high...

Since you want an explanation, this is it The restaurant was placed in a great area however sadly the service wasn’t good at all. The main course took 1h and 45 minutes to come and I know that it’s difficult with a restaurant full of people however this timing is pretty bad and I’ve been to many remote Greek islands and none were as expensive, or took as long and the taste was significantly better. I hope you can take this feedback and use it to motivate you to improve the timing and overall quality. I also hope that instead of writing angry extremely long responses to any review that didn’t go your way, you spend more time on the restaurant and improving it. Overall, my opinion and of my friends is quite different to the majority of the reviews which I’m not sure if they’re real or not but if they are I don’t agree with them. July 2024. Don’t often bother to write reviews, but this place was such a stunning surprise that I had to take the time. We had already left another place because of its stuffy unwelcoming vibe (coco mat in Vagia) and were just wanting true Greek food and warmth. Grandmas cafe popped up in a search of the area and other reviews were raving too. Three of us ate some of the best food we have had ANYWHERE and we are all foodies and bloody fussy. The zucchini fritters were outrageous with subtle herbal hints (dill and mint we think) and the Greek salad had such a gorgeous balance of everything. The best on the island IMO, beating even Chora’s finest. We went back again and were just as happy. The setting by the beach couldn’t be nicer either. Literally one of those places that we will dream about from grey London and somewhere that we would fly back to repeat. Lovely staff too. Well done Grandma’s cafe....
