This traditional taverna promised so much with a lovely setting right on the back of the bay/beach and a menu with a wide variety of dishes. And it has to be said that when we finally received the food, it was excellent with the fennel fritters being the best we tasted on the island and the chickpeas in tomato also proving to be very, very good. However, sadly the experience was spoilt by the service. We arrived at 12:20 and asked if they were open for food and were told 'not yet, food orders are taken from 1pm'. No problem we thought, we will have a drink, admire the view and order at 1pm. However, at 12:35, other clients turned up at a number of tables, their tables were laid, orders were taken and food started arriving at 12:50. We tried in vain to attract the attention of the owner and waiter but by now they were busy dealing with the other customers. Finally, at 1:10pm I managed to get their attention and at 1:15pm received 1 menu. We chose what we wanted only to find that when the owner arrived to take the order at 1:20pm, (an hour after we arrived and the first served customers were already leaving), we discovered that only about one third of the items on the menu were available. As I mentioned above, we could not fault the food but being someone who speaks Greek and loves to interact with locals, we left feeling like we were pre-judged as visitors to the island and treated as second rate clients....
Read moreI have to agree with the previous review on here, the personnel specifically the one gentleman that served the food was not only rude but hated his job. He literally commented that he didn’t want to take extra trips to serve our order since we decided to add a few more items. We were willing to spend money and order 300 euros worth of food and end with their popular kokkora pasta. We even took a moment to just discuss this with the server and just bring it to his attention we understand he may be busy and we’re looking forward to an amazing meal. Unfortunately, he snapped at us saying I don’t want to talk to you and walked away. We had to go directly to the restaurant and ask for the bill and let them know this was one of the worst experiences we had on this magical island and we will now take our...
Read moreThe place is in mega livadi village, and you eat on the shore. Tables and chairs are worn, the sand is dirty with food leftovers and cats wander all around the place, but that’s ok. Food quality is also average. Prices are not, they’re higher than usual and considering that basically every restaurant on the island offers more or less the same menu, it should mean a higher quality. Sadly it’s not like that. Also the service is awful, you wait for ages to place the order, wait long for the food and it seems that locals, no matter when they arrive, have a priority on your order. 2 stars only because the food was okay. But for what I payed I expected way...
