We've been for four years on holiday in Sithonia and we had ups and downs, but nothing is compared to the bad experience that we've had here. First of all the service was almost inexistent, we've waited for almost an hour for two dishes which came cold. This could be due to the bussy night, but still no one came to check on us. The music too loud, but ok I can accept it as it's a tavern so I assume it's normal. At certain point the terrace became full of flying ants which I had to remove from inside the glass of beer for several times. We've took musaka and lamb chops (which are advertised by pinterest as the best in town). The musaca cold and the top part was tasteless. The lamb chops were gamy and like rubber band. The cherry on top was the bill. We had to pay with card and we were invited to pay inside. The strange part was that the waiter somehow lose the receipt and we were unable to check, but another guy just told me 64.70 €. We've had far much better dining at elegant restaurants for much less money. This was by far the worst experience and we...
Read moreIt’s for the first time I feel the need to write a review about a taverna in Greece. I have never ever had any real bad experiences, neither have I left angry and disappointed. Until today. Paul’s Taverna was a nice place to eat but not anymore. First of all: the service is terrible. Actually there is no service. They (2 waiters for all the tables) are slow, the food was amazingly bad for a taverna - with small portions and a terrible presentation. The pork souvlaki was impossible to eat, it was hard like a shoe. The vesps will almost eat you alive, they are so many. From time to time (I had to ask) the waiters will bring some burning coffee which doesn’t really help. Instead your tshirt will smell like you were the one grilled. You want to pay? Be ready to wait for another 1 hour. I left with a huge disappointment and I will never consider visiting this taverna anytime soon. If you want to enjoy the view go to one of the cafeterias or just have a walk and eat...
Read moreExcellent location for sunset, a small village only 6 km from neos marmaras. The story of mr. Paul is motivational and can serve as an example for choices in life. The food is quite divers, mainly for traditional dishes, but also some fish. We had dinner for 6, on a thursday night and we arrived around 8.00. Maybe we were lucky, it was not crowded and the waither had the time to share with us stories about tavern, about mountain Athos and some particularities of the area. We tried local food, prepared in the house (some traditional dishes were finished when we arrived) and each and every one was impecable. Very good taste and nice. Even baclava they prepare in the house. They gave us as a gift a bottle of local wine. Of course, we return for a second dinner and Nondas, the waiter, was only full of energy on joy. The local liquer/digestive they prepare is fantastic. We were lucky just to discover the village and the tavern. So, ofharisto poli for the...
