"Michael-Margaret" Tavern — Restaurant in Municipality of South Kynouria

Found this gem of a restaurant while taking a rest day from climbing. After laying at the beach all day, we walked up and were immediately greeted by Margaret with the warmest welcome. She sat us at a table in the sunshine and brought us limes and oranges as a gift for arriving in Greece for the first time. One of the best oranges I’ve had so far on the trip. We ordered grilled shrimp and grilled sardines and both were so tasty and delicious. Super fresh and the salad that came with the shrimp was really really good as well. Margarita is the sweetest lady and I absolutely love her restaurant. Her hospitality is unmatched. The food her son Micheal prepares is alway freash, local from the garden of John and so delicious. We come back to this most special place every summer! It reminde me of the restaraunts I used to go to in Croatia when I was a kid! We keep coming back here every summer when with our sailing charter in greece. She always gives us a bag full of fruits and vegetables from her garden. We love...

Such a great family and so hospitable. The welcome you get is so lovely and the food is excellent and fresh. We went before in 2014 eating there 3 times and had such good memories we took the scenic route in 2021 just to go back there for lunch during our drive from Monemvasia to Nafplio

Sat alongside the harbour the setting is the best in town and I just hope the sailing boats return soon to bring the customers back post pandemic.
