We were looking for a restaurant to end our last night on. After looking down the coast for a while I decided to look inland. We came across this with great review and they are very accurate, for sure.

The vibe as soon as you walk into this establishment is brilliant. The owner greeted us as we walked in (we did not book) Yanis, you were brilliant and the food was incredible.

As you can see from the pictures the portions are far from small. You get a lot of food for what you pay. The huge steak at the top left of the picture was only €15 and the mixed grill you see on the right was only €12 and both were very very nice. The chicken souvlaki was only about €8 and all were quite filling. We also ordered starters as you can see from the one picture.

For €77 we managed to get, 4 starters (Pita, Garlic Pita, Feta and Olive Oil and also some grilled Halloumi) 4 Mains (Chicken Souvlaki, 2x Mixed Grills and a Huge Steak), 6 soft drinks between the 4 of us (also had water for free) We were given watermelon after the meal also.

There was also a young girl working at the restaurant which we believe was the daughter of the owner maybe. She was very nice and offered to teach us a little greek which was lovely. Also after our meals offered us 4 alcoholic drinks (4 glasses of Ouzo) for free and showed us the tradional ways of drinking it and why it is served...

Very friendly staff who gave us a warm welcome, was quick to get us drinks and some appetisers while we waited for the rest of our group to arrive. The owner/waiter looked after us really well throughout the evening.

There were eight of us and they managed to get all our food out together, everyone’s was really well cooked and presented. The Greek salad I had came with a generous slab of feta and really fresh veg, the tomatoes were sweet and overall it was tasty and filling which made it great value.

The feel of the place is like being in a garden terrace, we were cocooned by what I was told was Jasmine so it was really fragrant and fresh. Unfortunately the mozzies came for dinner too and the chairs were upright and wooden so became a little uncomfortable after an hour or so but that may have been exacerbated by my sun burnt back.

Overall a fun evening with great food and...

This place was absolutely fantastic - so much so that we came back again before our week away was up (and we never visit the same place twice!). The chicken kontosouvli was incredible and by far the best one we'd had all week. What was even better was the portion sizes - some places we went to had huge portions which eventually was just too much and not enjoyable. Agounistra's portions were just right and we didn't come away feeling as though we were fit to bursting! It was very good value for money as well. The tavern itself was lovely, with fresh gorgeous smelling jasmine when we visited. The lady (sorry I didn't get your name!) who runs it is super friendly and remembered us on our return visit. They obviously have a lot of returning customers as she seemed to know everyone who came! Would highly recommend this tavern as an authentic corfoit...

Came for the good reviews but were let down a bit. While the food was generally okish, the service was completely overwhelmed with the half full restaurant. The starters lacked something. Cheeseballs without any dip like fig chutney as I know it from other places, the fries come without anything as well. Having just Bifteki and fries with some leafes of salad (no dressing, no tsatziki no mayonnaise, no nothing) is just too dry. We ordered extra Tsatziki and were charged 5€. The wine came after the 3rd reminder. Meatballs in sauce were ok. Prices have increased in comparison to what is published here on maps. I wouldn't go there again especially considering the remote location.
