PASTA BAR — Restaurant in Municipality of Southern Corfu

As 4 adults with differing tastes we enjoyed eating here twice during our week in Agios Mattheos. The menu is the most accommodating we found in the small town - traditional Corfu dishes, fish, vegetarian, risotto, pizza, pasta etc. The restaurant is ran from the family home, with the mother as chef, son as waiter and father assisting, an authentic Agios Mattheos experience.

The pita bread, dips, vine leaves and saganaki starters are all delicious.

The portions are very generous and the waiter, whose family home is the restaurant, provides excellent service. We found the wait to be a little long at times given it is now out of season and the restaurants are relatively quiet, but the waiter seemed to be also helping out in the kitchen (4/5*).

The best meals we tried were the sword fish, chicken risotto, pancetta tagliatelle and caprese pizza. The aubergine pasta wasn't to my preference due to being light on the vegetable content, though the portion was big, I'm not actually sure how the dish is traditionally served (hence 4/5*).

We forgot to take photographs as the food was so well presented we tucked straight in.

This restaurant is the best on this little charming town. We went on Corfu for 3 days ans we ate in there every single evening. The owner is so kind, he is attentive to your needs and adapte everything to you to have the best experience. Food is so fresh, local and well prepared.
