Stis Elies Canteen — Restaurant in Municipality of Spata - Artemida

Yesterday after work, took the family at a remote cantine outside the town of Spata, in Mesogaia area in Attica prefecture. The owner, a former carpenter, with his wife on the grill. The produce are his own, lamb meat, cheese, yogurt-tzatziki, his own potatoes, veal and chicken from local farmers, olive oil and olives from his trees. Tomatoes and veggies from Kea (Tzia) island, wine from the local savatiano variety. No wonder is called "at the olive trees", ( Στις ελιές). Started with beef liver with just fleur de sel, (ανθός αλατιού), black pepper, olive oil and fresh squeezed lemon juice. Followed by a Ntakos salad covered in green olives, feta cheese and diced tomatoes. Pan fried hand cut chips. A plate of veal steaks and a plate of pork neck steaks, tzatziki sauce, slices of bread slightly covered in olive oil, course salt and oregano on the grill, and a plate of chicken kebab marinated in orange mustard sauce. A place that was started,many years ago,as a cantina..eat something on the go.. Nowadays,you can find inside all the kind of people!..having their break,wearing their costumes!Meeting place of all the people who respect what they eat!Meeting reason?The sheep(προβατο)that they serve! Καλό φαγητό (τις 2 φορές που κατάφερα να φάω μεσοβδόμαδα και όντας άδειο το μαγαζί) αλλά αγενέστατος ιδιοκτήτης. 1) Μας έδιωξε όλες τις φορές που πήγαμε με το παιδί μας (8 ετών) 2) Μας είπε ότι δεν είχε τραπέζι ενώ όλες τις φορές είχε τουλάχιστον δύο 4άρια τραπέζια ελεύθερα 3) Δε σεβάστηκε ούτε την πείνα ενός μικρού παιδιού 4) Σε ερώτηση αν μπορούμε να κάνουμε κράτηση 1 ή και 2 εβδομάδες μετά δεν απάντησε 5) Το ύφος του υποτιμητικό, απαξιωτικό και 1000 καρδιναλίων.

Η ποιότητα του φαγητού (του ούτως ή άλλως πολύ περιορισμένου - από θέμα επιλογών - καταλόγου) δεν αρκεί για να καλύψει την παραπάνω απαράδεκτη συμπεριφορά.

Υπάρχουν άλλα ταβερνάκια και καντίνες στην περιοχή με εξίσου καλό ή/και καλύτερο και πιο οικονομικό φαγητό που σε σέβονται και πάνω από όλα αγαπάνε τα παιδιά…!!!
