TAVERNA CHRISTINA FISH RESTAURANT — Restaurant in Municipality of Spata - Artemida

The food here is disappointing to say the least. We ordered the cod as were told it was fresh however it was extremely fishy and definitely wasn’t fresh. We ordered the octopus and it was barely warm and very chewy. The tzatziki has the texture of shop bought and the fried vegetables were so so greasy that we couldn’t eat much of them and felt sick after. We have been in Greece for 7 days and this is the worst’s meal by far that we have had and a very disappointing way to end the holiday. If you want large portions of low quality food this is the place to come. Dont believe the many good reviews, just find somewhere better!

Edit: This was our last meal in Greece just before heading to the airport. Hours after eating here both me and my girlfriend started feeling sick. The plane journey was very uncomfortable due to our unsettled stomachs from eating here. The day after we got home my girlfriend became sick and her stomach and bowel movements have been in a real state. We are convinced that she got food poisoning from this establishment and urge you to avoid here like the plague. I have e messaged the restaurant and they have read my message and not replied. This place needs to be shut down asap as what they are doing here is highly...

I do respect the pain from the loss of a close member of family few weeks back and the mess that creates -as per the owner’s statement-, this is the reason I don’t want to comment at all on the early closure of the restaurant WITHOUT an earlier notice one hour after I arrived and while I didn’t finish my meal and drink. Moreover it looked really rude that waiters were removing the music speakers and the tents while people were still dining. Anyway, I called the owner and he explained the shocking scene although professionally-wise they should give notice to people who arrived late and they should not look so rude giving clear signs of kicking them out.

On the food side, fried eggplant was too much oily and without yogurt or tzatziki there was no way the oily taste to “break”. Calamari and wine were ok. No sweet treat at the end of the meal and on this I believe there is no excuse.

Fantastic experience in an authentic seaside tavern.

We went there Sunday evening, and was greeted warmly by the host when we came! There was a family birthday dinner going on as well, which accounted for music, dance and good vibes.

Our host took heartily good care of us in this family-restaurant, and we left happy and content with a feeling of having had one of the best meals in our vacation.

Fish are fresh - The grilled Red Snapper was the best white fish I've had for many years and the fried Calamari was fresh as well. Our teens had souvlaki and pork and were delighted as well (clean plates).

Host and family cared for us and we had an amazing evening, where we didn't feel like outsiders or tourists, but welcomed and a part of the evening.

Highly recommended - don't stay at the airport, take the drive out to this place for your meal, you will not be disappointed - we weren't!
