This place was one of the highlights of my entire trip to Greece this year. The Port of Riba is such a sweet and sleepy contrast to the crowds of Santorini. This Taverna is amazing too. It felt like we experienced proper Greek culture. Nikolas was really welcoming and attentive to all the guests in his Taverna the day we visited. A group of us (30ish) had just run around the whole island, and then descended on him and his staff whilst we waited for the Ferry to come and collect us. He comes to everyone to find out what you want to eat, I didn't see a menu presented to anyone, and the style is more that he will recommend food for you and you get served fresh, local, homegrown options. Everyone was happy with the selections within our group and we really enjoyed the atmosphere as we drank our beers and watched the ocean. French fries home made, and delicious, Fried Saedines also good. The grilled Calamari took ages to arrive at least 15-20min before everything else. We fed it to the local cats hanging around the tables. The second serve that was going to be "1 minute" arrived another 10minutes later and was tasty and well presented!. (what happened to Calamari 1🤔) They did apologise and brought a free beer but the damage was already done. Too bad as we were excited at the...

You’ll be welcomed by Nikos—just tell him you’re hungry, and get ready for the best meal you’ve ever had. This is authentic homemade Greek cooking. The best part? There’s no menu—every day brings something new, but it’s always amazing. Before you know it, you’ll be chatting with Nikos, who turns out to speak a bunch of languages. No surprise there—Nikos is a former sailor who’s traveled the world and soaked up all kinds of cultures. Before long, he feels like an old friend, eagerly waiting for your next visit to Thirasia. Who knows, maybe we’ll end up retiring...
