Santa Xinara is a true gem tucked away in the quiet town of Xinara, perched high up on the island of Tinos. The peaceful surroundings add so much to the experience – it’s the kind of calm that immediately puts you at ease.
The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful. The indoor and outdoor spaces are both tastefully arranged, with elegant tables and thoughtful details throughout. Even the menu stands out – printed with care and making clever use of the Greek letter “xi” from “Xinara,” which says a lot about the level of attention that goes into everything here.
And the food? Just incredible. We started with freshly baked bread and a salad made of local, ultra-fresh ingredients – bursting with flavor. The main course was a local goat, cooked to absolute perfection. Every bite was a reminder of how good simple, well-prepared food can be.
Our waiter was wonderful – warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable. He guided us through the menu and gave great recommendations. Trusting his suggestions turned out to be the best decision of the evening. Don’t miss the chocolate mousse with salted caramel – it’s a must!
We’ll definitely be back. Santa Xinara was one of the most memorable dining experiences we’ve...
Read moreWe had heard good reviews about this new restaurant in Tinos and we went with high expectations during peak August time. We were greatly disappointed. Every single plate we ordered was not edible. They were all undercooked . Most probably due to lots of reservations the chef was taking the plates to the tables too fast. There is no other way to explain it. Also the meat that we ordered had no taste, was too difficult to chew and was not coming with any side at all. When we asked for a side dish to accompany the meat they told us that there is nothing coming along with the meat. Finally the spaghetti shrimp was tasteless and extremely dry. Not to mention that the salad of beans was not boiled at all. The service was poor but when they saw that we did not touch the spaghetti shrimp they didn’t include it is the bill which was a kind gesture and they also apologized In conclusion I think that they had a really bad day and we were very unlucky to be there that day but it really was so bad that I will not give a...

Santa Xinara isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an awakening of the senses and a heartfelt love letter to Tinian tradition with a modern, fearless twist. Nestled in the serene village of Xinara beneath the gaze of Exomvourgo, this place offers more than a meal; it delivers a culinary journey that surprises, delights, and lingers in memory long after the last bite.
The menu dances between the deeply rooted and the unexpectedly refined. Each dish is a story—local ingredients elevated to art, with wild herbs, foraged elements, and ancestral flavors boldly reimagined. You taste the land and history of Tinos in every course, yet nothing feels rustic or familiar in the conventional sense. This is island soul food—yes—but filtered through imagination and precision.
Highlights? It’s almost unfair to pick, but the goat with smoked yogurt and herbs made me pause mid-bite in reverence. The handmade pies—delicate, flaky, filled with local greens—tasted like a grandmother’s recipe interpreted by a dreamer. Even the bread, served with fresh olive oil and sea salt, felt like a small ceremony.
The setting only deepens the experience: a restored schoolhouse, tranquil and elegant, where time slows and conversation blooms. Service is intimate, warm, and deeply knowledgeable—more like being hosted than served.
Santa Xinara is a destination in itself. It’s for those who love food that tells a story, food that dares. Tinos is lucky to have it—but so are we, for the chance to taste something this deeply rooted and boldly original.
Don’t miss it. Go hungry. Leave changed.
