CASTELLA-BEACH — Restaurant in Municipality of West Achaea

BEWARE! PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING!!!

My husband and I often travel to this part of Greece to visit family. Over the past years we stayed at Poseidon Palace that recently closed so we picked Castella Beach Hotel because it was close to our relative’s house. This hotel is run by a brother and sister. We arrived late afternoon in April 2024 and spent the night. The next morning my husband went to breakfast and spoke with the brother letting him know that we did not need our room cleaned since we were only there for one more night. Twice that morning the brother said to my husband that no one would enter our room. We left after breakfast to visit our family. As usual, when we stay in a hotel, we set up a Ring camera. On the way back, after our visit, the ring went off. I looked and saw that it was the sister entering our room. She went to the first suitcase, realized that it was locked, then proceeded to search my suitcase which was open on the floor. I had one side completely zipped up for clothes I needed for the second part of our trip. She then un-zipped it and pulled out a dress and held it up. The light flashed on the camera, so she immediately stuffed the dress in the suitcase and ran out. We arrived a few minutes later and confronted her. The brother came out and denied that she would do that, but she turned to him and said, “They have a camera!” She tried to apologize, but we could find no reason why she would need to go through our luggage other than to steal. The brother tried to say she was going in just to clean, but note, she has no cleaning supplies with her. We packed our suitcases and left. The piece de resistance was when we looked at our credit card statement...they charged us for...
