Seimeio strofilia food and wine — Restaurant in Municipality of West Achaea

Hello Dear Travellers and Globe Trotters,

I don’t know from where to start and how to structure this. I won’t use the term review but better said, my adventure and reminiscing of this lovely place in Kalogria.

I’m a Greek expat from South Africa and got precisely what I wanted from here. A true Greek experience and bond.

Long story short…As we approached this peaceful and summery typical Greek and Peloponnesische neighborhood , and after parking our rental vehicle. We were almost tended to immediately.

We were introduced to the lovely lady Danai and the Chef as well as co-owner Manos, who are the owners of this establishment, that gave us a personal welcome.

Upon giving us a tour, telling us a personal to-do and go—to-see recommendations in the area, we were shown to our comfortable rooms. My favorite part of the process hehe.. A lovely hotel room with feel-at-home feeling, giving someone an immediate sensation of relaxation. This is an important for us corporate employees.

The rooms where cozy, neat, clean and easy to adjust to. Most importantly for someone like me, they were refreshingly air conditioned accompanied by a small mini fridge to store my beer at.

Upon resting and changing from our trip from South Africa, which was slightly arduous we of course went to EAT. We were starving . The dish, as well as Chef Manos personal recommendation, was the “Sfirida”, which is a gigantic grouper fish.

The first course consisted of a soup, yes soup, who would have thought that this would be delightful in summer right ??? SURPRISE! It hit all the spots. Followed by a delicious fish fillet! Sensational.

This hotels tiny tiny restaurant seriously and genuinely astonished me with a variety of dishes! Coming from South Africa, where we are all about our steaks, this mans dry aged 700 gr T-Bone steaks with a pepper sauce and potatoes! Rocked my world. Trust me, the menu went on and I had gotten my hands on it. From Rib Eye steaks, Tomahawks and TUNA tagliatas.. to die for simply.

Of course, I mean of course, I had my breakfast served every single morning. A healthy omelette with bio eggs(possibly local) , peppers and cheese, together a freshly squeezed orange juice. This kickstarted my heart, as the famous song says..

Honestly, due to the small size of this establishment, the affordable price along with personal attendance of the owners and staff just makes this experience so much more memorable with the feeling of fearing the day once holidays come to an end.

Being a cigar connoisseur myself, the hotel bar had me provided with the cigar trays,brandy’s, cognacs and a fine selection of local and international wines.

In total I stayed for 4 nights, where I was short of nothing. Hotel and area wise. Mini market, the beach, beach BARS, pizza places all in walking distance.

Last but not least, this is a genuine review of my experience which I simply wrote in joy. I’m absolutely bonded with the place, location and the people- that my frequent return is guaranteed.

Having had the fortune and luck to have had explored the universe, this is of those occasions, where I know that the not so distant future will bring me back.

The last restaurant (they also rent rooms) we went to the day before leaving (we were customers of the Kalogria Beach hotel, just beside)|We had the drinks outside and then ate inside. We really enjoyed the nice atmosphere there. There are little funny colored tables and the vegetation is lovely. And regarding the food, it was VERY good (try the "parmousa pie"!).|The waiter was very conscientious, attentive and cared about the customers.|This is also the place where the staff from the Kalogria hotel eats, seemingly.||Thanks a lot to the whole team. This review is mostly about the restaurant, which is truly great and a must visit! We visited the restaurant 2 times and we truly wished we could visit again. The food was exceptional! Really generous portions, very well prepared, decent prices and most importantly very very tasteful! Everything we tried was cooked to perfection!
