Oasis — Restaurant in Municipality of Western Lesvos

During our second visit to Lesbos my wife and I stumbled upon the Oasis in Agia Paraskevi. We were staying in Skala Kallonis but we enjoy walking. It was quite a trek, but we walked via the salt pans and then up the long uphill winding road to this village. Once there we decided to stop for a drink. The Oasis sold cold draught beer and the glasses were kept in the freezer. It was a no-brainer! We booked a taxi back and enjoyed a few beers. Whilst there we were approached by a lovely man who engaged us in conversation. He introduced himself as Stratos, the owner of the restaurant. He was really welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed his company and had a really good laugh with him. Crisps, nuts and other nibbles were brought with every beer. We also tried the homemade baklava and it was definitely the best we’ve had in Greece. The shame of it was that we only came across this place on the last day of our holiday. We didn’t get the opportunity to dine here but the food being brought out looked very nice indeed. I have just booked a return 2 weeks trip to Skala Kallonis again for late September, 2025. Great cafe in the village. Visited almost daily. Super generous portions and everything we had was delicious. The savoury crepes, club sandwiches, salads and pizzas. Enjoyed our café fréddos under the shade of the beautiful trees. All the staff were warm and offered suggestions. The owner though, is one of a kind. Super guy who’s a wonderful host!
