Το Αρχοντικό της Ζάχολης — Restaurant in Municipality of Xylokastro and Evrostina

One of the best traditional Greek taverns I've ever dined at. A particularly satisfying experience after a nice hike in the surrounding area. We ordered a couple of appetizers, main dishes and a salad, and everything was delicious. Home-made style, authentic Greek cuisine, but no shortcuts or excessive grilling or salting. The veggies and fries were fresh, the portions more than generous.

Just as important, the people working at the Arxontiko were extremely friendly and helpful, the service was professional, extremely attentive and fast. They were also generous and always eager to help with any concern or personal preference.

The prices were quite reasonable for the post-inflation world and the location.

The area is very nice, there's a partial view of the green mountain and the restaurant''s style is once again traditional rural Greek. I am very glad such places still exist and seem to be prospering, after gentrification and mass tourism has sadly killed off a lot of them, and along with them, a core part of Greek everyday culture.

It was not the first time we came here, and certainly will not be the last! It’s not just the food, which is very good, tasty and comes in large portions, it’s not the fantastic environment which is amongst tall trees, a small pond nearby and a great forrest, it’s the honest relationship that one builds with the owners and the staff that work here! The service is prompt and courteous, the staff no matter how tired they may be - after all the place is enormous, but cozy - they always serve with a smile.

The prices, are not cheap, but what you get is quality food and large portions, so overall they are decent!

Πρωτα απ όλα θέλω να πω ότι είμαι υπομονετικός και όχι πολύ απαιτητικός άνθρωπος, αλλά εδώ αποφάσισα όχι μόνο να δώσω ένα αστέρι, αλλά και να εξηγήσω γιατί το έβαλα. Όταν πηγαίνετε μια ημερήσια εκδρομή με παιδιά, θέλετε να περνάτε καλά. Έτσι ήταν μέχρι που αποφασίσαμε να φάμε σε αυτή την ταβέρνα. Κυριακή, γύρω στις 2 μ.μ. Σας ευχαριστούμε που μας δώσατε αμέσως στο τραπέζι. Εκεί τελείωσαν οι θετικές εντυπώσεις. Οι τουαλέτες είναι βρώμικες, το προσωπικό είναι πολύ ατημέλητο όταν χειρίζεται το φαγητό, όλοι φοράνε ότι να ναι. Το ψωμί φέρεται σε χαρτοπετσέτα, σαλάτες χωρίς λάδι και αλάτι (και δεν έχει στο τραπέζι, πρέπει να ζητήσετε). Οι μερίδες είναι μικρές, παραγγείλαμε 0,5 κιλό παϊδάκια και μας έφεραν 5 κομμάτια και πρόσθεσαν μερικές τηγανητές πατάτες για να φαίνεται πιο γεμάτο το πιάτο. Κάθε πιάτο χρειάστηκε πολυυυυυύ ώρα για να φτάσει, ένα ζεστό πιάτο δεν έχει έρθει ποτέ. Φύγαμε χωρίς να το περιμένουμε, γιατί όλοι βαρεθήκαμε να περιμένουμε 1 ώρα και.. και φύγαμε πεινασμένοι. Επιπλέον, οι τιμές στο κατάστημα είναι αρκετά υψηλές (για τέτοια ποσότητα και ποιότητα), αλλά αυτό δεν ήταν μεσημεριανό, ήταν πραγματικό μαρτύριο.

Θα ήθελα να επικοινωνήσω με τους ιδιοκτήτες αυτής της εγκατάστασης. Εάν έχετε ένα πραγματικό μονοπώλιο σε ένα δεδομένο μέρος ανάπαυσης, δεν χρειάζεται να πιστεύετε ότι ο πελάτης δεν έχει άλλη επιλογή και θα εξακολουθεί να σας αποφέρει οφέλη. Αντί να ψάχνετε κάθε φορά δικαιολογίες γιατί έχετε προβλήματα με το σέρβις, οργανώστε σωστά τη δουλειά σας, βάλτε τα πράγματα σε τάξη και μην είστε λαίμαργος!
