I’ve been to many restaurants in Greece, Turkey, Spain, Italy, Croatia, Serbia, Germany, the UK, Bulgaria etc., but this definitely has been the WORST experience that I’ve had by far. Avoid if you value basic health and safety, as well as your overall experience. Here’s why:
We were seated with my wife and daughter in an empty restaurant at the farthermost table, next to a live! electrical cable and my daughter (2 years old) had to sit right behind a gas bottle!!! The baby chair provided was broken and could not fit in the cramped space between the live electrical cable, the gas bottle and the table itself. Food was mediocre at best, the salad was OK, but the octopus and calamari were rather bland and their portion sizes were small. The staff added items we didn’t consume to the check. To add insult to injury, we expected at least a small compliment from the establishment, given the health and safety hazards and the overall experience, as is the case throughout Greece and Europe. A final insult was the fact the when we request to take away our food, the staff were so unkind as to provide us boxes to put the food in ourselves!!! The boxes couldn’t be closed either! I have never ever seen such a practice, anywhere in Europe.
Overall, this place is either under a new management, or the previous reviews are misleading. Avoid if you value your health and safety or you want good service and value.
P.S. When we asked our waiter to speak to the management, he said that they weren’t there. When leaving we found out they actually were there. Lying to you customers is never a good...
Read moreThe food and the waiters were great. Prices are okay considering the big portions.
Unfortunately we were mislead when we called to make a reservation. We asked for a table for 4 on the terrace and were told the reservation is made so we were looking forward to it. When we went there, we were placed not on the terrace, but near the entrance and there was a free table on the terrace for 4 people. We asked again for them to check our reservation and were told that they do not reserve special tables and our table is the one near the entrance. We can sit there or go. Obviously, we were not happy and asked if we find an empty table on the terrace to swap and they said it's okay. We sat on the terrace table and 2 minutes later were told to go back to our previous table, because this one is reserved. How? For who? They don't make special reservation, right? We went back to the table as we were tired and hungry. The waiters and other customers were passing behind us and were "kicking/pushing" our chairs when passing through because of the narrow space between tables. Of course, it was not intentional, but it was not pleasant either.
Overall, we left happy with the food and service of the waiters. Big portions, very tasty, very well presented and were quick to take the order and serve the food. 5-10 minutes for everything.
However, we won't visit again because of the reservation screwup and the NOT customer friendly approach. We were looked as if it's our fault and we are crazy to ask for the table...
Read moreThis is one of the few restaurants with good rating in the area so after we went to the one near end of the coastline, Polymnia, naturally the next day we tried this one that has high ratings and has a pleasant view.
At Polymnia I was pleasantly surprised with the service, waiters were super fast and kind and our guy was always there for us, and we tipped him well. At this place however, waiters disappeared after the initial orders and we had to wait and try to get their attention for a long time before they appeared again. Just to clarify - food appeared quickly, but the waiters were unavailable for extra orders.
I didn't like that the menu didn't have ingredients listed, just vague descriptions (even though they were in Bulgarian + Greek), because I couldn't figure what were some dishes made of, and I also suspect the allergens listed in some dishes weren't very accurate.
Perhaps the menu being in Bulgarian and Greek only, and not BG + GR + EN is why there was some confusion with my order and the waitress didn't understand I wanted grilled and not fried shrimp. I couldn't order another dish for quite a while after that, since no waiter was available and nobody looked at our table, so I stayed hungry for a lot of time.
Food was mediocre. Compared to the restaurant nearby, they didn't have large fish servings, only fish of the day for €40 the kilo (Polymnia had dishes with fish for like 10 euros). Aubergine appetiser was...
