I used to visit this place decades ago when it was an alternative-style beach and beach bar mostly for the younger. Little I knew after I came back to visit again as a now Greek from abroad. From all of the beaches around the area this is probably now the worst in regards to the level of hospitality and service quality received. It seems that they run a first class and second class customer selection practice. If you pass their face and social class control threshold you can sit at the bar, if not, you get told that the chairs in front are already reserved and you must sit at the far rocky end of the beach. Furthermore for every single thing you order you are asked to first pay in advance as if you will run away with your coffee or cocktail, plus there is an obvious staff discomfort if you'd want to pay by card (instead of cash). For comparison, other local beaches just send you the final bill at the end of your visit. To be fair, the bar is nice looking and well maintained but there are many other beaches nearby with equally nice or even better beach bars without these disgraceful cons. Shame on you guys. You keep the worst side of modern Greek business...
Read moreI recently made a reservation for 4 sunbeds at Almyra Beach Bar and Restaurant in Nea Peramos, Greece (15.08.2023). However, upon arrival, my group and I were informed that we could only have 2 sunbeds and a single umbrella, despite our reservation clearly stating 4 sunbeds. This discrepancy led to a frustrating start to our day. The lack of proper seating for all four of us left us dissatisfied with the service provided. We were looking forward to enjoying a relaxing day at the beach, but unfortunately, the venue's inability to accommodate our reservation left us with a negative impression. As paying customers, we expected better communication and adherence to our reservation details. This experience certainly did not meet our expectations, and we ultimately decided to leave. It's disappointing when a well-anticipated outing turns sour due to service inconsistencies. We hope that Almyra Beach Bar and Restaurant takes customer reservations more seriously in the future to avoid similar situations. Our visit was far from the enjoyable beach day we...
Read moreOverpriced and unfair use. The beach is nice, in that it is part of a semi natural harbour, so swimmers are protected from stronger waves. However, the sand is coarse, the sea goes deep quick and there's a lot of rocks in part of it. Overall, not very inviting. The facilities are well organised and maintained and appealing to the eye. Clean toilets, which is a bonus given the current situation. The music is not too loud and staff are polite enough (for Greece).
Given the quality of the beach and sand, I would say the beach bar is positively overpriced.
In addition, when we arrived, we took one of a couple of bigger beds, only to be immediately informed that the particular bed had a minimum consumption of €150! We moved to one of the smaller beds where we ordered coffee (3x €5!). I am convinced that some of the groups arriving after us were not asked to pay that minimum, which is very disappointing, but also very typical...
