Taverna Michales — Restaurant in Paggaio Municipality

We were completely disappointed with this restaurant. I ordered a portion of shrimp listed on the menu as €13, but the waiter told us it was a “very large portion” and actually costs €25. We agreed, thinking it must be worth it, only to receive a tiny tray with exactly five shrimp. Not sure how that qualifies as a “large portion.”

We also asked for the fish soup and was told they had run out. Ten minutes later, the table next to us, who arrived 15 minutes after we did , got served the same soup. When we asked, we were told it had been “pre-ordered.” Convenient.

We ordered two portions of potatoes, only one arrived. Also asked for a bottle of water, which somehow the waiter “forgot”… until we reminded him. Good thing we did, because it magically appeared on the bill anyway.

I understand we’re tourists and maybe that means we don’t get the same treatment as locals, but that doesn’t justify this kind of service. On top of it all, I ordered lemonade and was given lemon Fanta. Let’s not pretend that’s the same thing.

And after all this, the waiter still had the nerve to ask: “Is everything alright?” No, it wasn’t.

A real pity, the view is stunning, but everything else left...

That restaurant was recommended to us and we visited, was there for dinner. We was 4 people and order salads and appetizers, without any main dish. Ordered Food vas very good and tasty, I wanted to order octopus but the price in the menu kill me 27€ for regular portion, everywhere else is between 12 and 16€. The waiter speaks very good English and was very kind. Anyway we was not impressed the food was very nice, service also, about the atmosphere is regular- terrace in front of the sea with plastic tables and chairs , the prices are very high for my opinion -diner without main dish, only 2 salads, 3 appetizers and 2 small bottles of ouzo = 100€. Pretty much a lot less than expected. Prices are noticably higher than those of other greek restaurants in the area, which would have been fine had it not been for the absurdly small portions. For 5 people we had to order 5 main dishes, 3 salads and 2 side dishes and still was not enough. Had to wait a lot of time until the waiters took our orders, waited a lot for the food, for which we were warned in the beginning so fair enough. Food was nothing exceptional, the squid was bland, 25 euros for an octopus which in the end was no more than 150gr. We ordered bread, it never arrived. Heads up to the staff for being kind and speaking...
