The Windmill restaurant is an absolute 'must-do' if you're staying in the south west area of Paros. The three of us went for dinner arriving just before sunset, the latter is amazing from this outdoor restaurant's POV looking down the island's slope towards the sea. The three of us went on a Sunday evening in July and the restaurant was at about half capacity. The service is friendly and prompt and the food was great (better than I expected from reading previous reviews - it's fairly standard fare but the stewed chickpeas were standout for me). This restaurants only online presence is via a Facebook page, so I've taken photos of the menu and attached as I didn't know the pricing or what food times were available until I arrived (and it's something ppl should know before hand). If you didn't already know, the outdoor seating that comprises the restaurant from the customer POV is in front of the Windmill, which is a restored windmill (there is info available that talks about this) which now serves as an art gallery. It's not verbally conveyed or any signs, but the windmill / art gallery is open during the restaurant operating hours (no charge). Just go in the doorway of the windmill, working your way up and and visit the art of each floor. Overall, the fresco dining, sunset view, and the windmill and it's art gallery make this a unique not to miss experience.
Unfortunately I have a bug bear about all Greek restaurants which is epitomized at this restaurant due to an incident, which has resulted me in reducing the overall rating to 4 out of 5 stars, and the 'Service' (not of the wait staff, which was excellent, but of Management's omission). We were presented with the bill, we provided a credit card, but when the wait staff returned, they said, "sorry, we got your bill wrong, it's actually dearer here is the correct price". Greek restaurants don't provide an itemised bill, and in one case at a different restaurant, when we requested the bill, the waiter verbally told us the amount (and this was a red flag for us and we said "no, bring us an itemised bill"). Itemised bills have been available through technology for the last couple of decades. As a customer, I need to see an itemised bill so that I can confirm that all of the items that the restaurant are charging me are in fact items I've ordered. I assume this doesn't happen in Greece, not because the technology isn't available, but because the restaurants see it as an opportunity to inflate the bill without the customer knowing Stop it. Buy the software and configure it with the items you sell. Be honest and transparently charge the real and appropriate amounts that you need to operate and make a profit. I don't want a bill that says Item 1, Item 2 etc as it's...
Read moreIf you want to feel like you are in Greece with a family and to see the lifestyle, this is the place to come. The owner is very humble and the history of the place where his father made the windmill is amazing. The food was extremely tasty and the whole atmosphere and little tables add to the amazing feeling of being on top of this mountain... I highly recommend...
Read moreQuirky place, well worth a visit for everything it offers. Have had breakfast and dinner here. Owners pleasant, place always clean, good view of Alyki town, parking at the back, reasonably priced and food flavoursome. The only drawer back for us, is their times of openning. (Dont quite meet our needs); menu can be limited at times too. Still go back every...
