Santa Maria Beach Bar — Restaurant in Paros Municipality

We live on the island and this is by far the worst beach bar. The owner/manager must be a major A hole from what we can see in his responses to the many negative reviews here. It also shows by the personnel that they must get poor directions from the manager because they are all over the place and by far the worst on the island. They are clueless, they have no quality, they curse in front of customers, they are rude and angry and most are not even Greek and don’t even try to speak Greek. It was a huge mistake to come to this place and we quickly left thankfully and found a magical beach just 5 minutes away. The beach at this place itself is overcrowded by trashy people who are loud, obnoxious and have no quality. There are hundreds of people on top of each other, getting drunk, shouting playing rackets or soccer on top of others who are sunbathing. Sadly the water itself is also dirty which is no wonder with so much pollution from the various water sports that speed by swimmers which also poses concerns of lack of safety. Overall an aggressive angry dirty unsafe trashy place with a very low vibration, energy and zero quality. Don’t bother. There are loads of other beach bars that offer quality, respect and service, let alone staff that is Greek or for the very least speak Greek. Terrible place which clearly derives from a terrible ownership or shall we say management. I wonder if they be manager will run to respond to this review with their aggressive defensive manner as seen in other reviews. They must be so terribly miserable and unhappy in their life to be running a trashy place like this. Sad for them. So many other places on this island that are happy friendly professionals with...

I've never felt so SCAMMED in my life! Trust me and avoid this place at all costs!

1. we have made a reservation online for 1st row umbrella set for 60 eu plus 10 eu booking fee (1st red flag that I have not taken seriously) so we paid 70 eu.
2. the 70 eu price we paid does Not include towels compared to other beach bars at this price range. No disclaimer whatsoever! We ended up paying another 30 eu to the nearby kiosk for 1 towel.
3. we made a reservation for 10:30 (no reservations are allowed after 11:00). If we didn't show up by that time they could have given our sunbeds to another person without refund. We arrived on time and the bar was closed. Only the lady collecting money from the sunbeds was on duty.
4. although they don't accept reservations after 11:00 am, the bar/restaurant was closed until 13:00. A lady at the bar said to my husband "there is a technical problem, what you don't understand?!" in greek while she and her colleagues were preparing coffees for themselves. So no food and drinks for the rest of us until 13:00.
5. there was a written note that 1st row sunbeds were 50 eu and from 2nd and after it was 40 eu. However, there's a different pricelist on the website! Remember that we paid 70 eu (only 3 reservations in the entire beach).
6. the sunbeds were very dirty and the table was covered with a red sticky stain. Also, no ashtrays available so there are cigarettes all over the beach.
7. While there was a "technical problem" we saw police officers from a distance walking around the bar.

This place is located on a stunning (but very overcrowded) beach, the sand was lovely and so was the sea, however our experience was very underwhelming, we were a group of 7 British 21/22 year old girls at this bar and possibly this is why they looked down on us, maybe because we looked like we couldn’t afford anything as it is very overpriced (even though we had every intention of ordering lots and staying the whole day)

We were greeted by our server who I think was called benny who served us the whole day, he was initially reluctant to serve us for food and only did when we told him we’d also be buying drinks, he was also very rude the whole time when serving us, including ignoring us when we were ordering as well as literally taking the menu out of one of hands and giving it to another table, this put us off buying many more drinks and we tried to only order from the other female waitress who was actually nice to us.

He was also only more interested in serving the other older Greek customers and dancing around with them, even when we wanted to put he was uninterested and rude.

The food was good even though it was served in cardboard boxes and the drinks were nice but overpriced, the best part of this place was the DJ who played...
