My husband, friends, and I were on a cruise and I did some research on where to stop for lunch while on a tour. I texted Martina via facebook and made reservations.
We were having a lovely time on our tour, but I think our lunch was the best thing out the entire day (although we loved the scenery of the island).
The seven of us sat on the terrace in the shade. It was a little on the cool side but still comfortable. Martina brought out blankets in case we needed them. I thought that was a great thing to do for their customers.
It was empty except for one couple with a baby.
We ordered traditional Greek dishes like Tzatziki, a spicy cheese spread, moussaka (I had that), pork souvlaki, grilled pork fillet, etc. Local wines too.
Everything was excellent! The moussaka was the best I had in ages.
Prices are very reasonable and good portions.
Martina took great care of us and even treated us to limoncello. A yummy ending to an excellent lunch.
I highly recommend this place. I felt like I was eating at someone's home, rather than...
Read moreWhat a fantastic place to stay. The apartment had a comfortable bed and was fully equipped with everything you needed including a full size oven and washing machine. The host even brought me an extra cooking dish when I requested one. The outside terrace is a sun trap and very private. We came in May and it was very quiet and peaceful although I cannot say what it will be like when the season gets busier as there is a restaurant upstairs. The restaurant is very nice serving traditional local food with spectacular views of the sea and sunset. The hosts were most friendly and accommodating. I have booked to return here and am looking to book with friends again next year. There are only three apartments to rent so you’ll be lucky if you get one. Also there are some stunning beaches locally and this is a much cheaper option for staying in the north. Car is needed. Sorry I forgot to take photos of the inside of the apartment but will add some on my...
Read moreWe were staying close by for a week ; we came here the first night then tried other restaurants but in the end we kept coming back to Veggera. You really can't fault it - the food, the atmosphere, the service, the hospitality and the prices. We also discovered and enjoyed several new dishes.
On Tuesdays and Saturdays there's a Greek band, a spit roast as well as their usual menu. The atmosphere was amazing and included dancing.
And then there's the view! Like wow!!! Looking out from the cliff at the sea and the sunset. It's just magical!!!
Interestingly this is the only restaurant we found that serves Tarama, which is a favourite of ours.
I cannot recommend this restaurant more. Go, you won't be...
