The place looks very good, well put together in the middle of the forest, though, a little sad seeing it that big and that empty. The food was tasty and the portions were big enough to satisfy our hunger. The disappointment started with the dessert, which it seemed they offered just to ckeck a box. As customed in Greece, the desesrt is on the house and we had some amazing desserts during our stay, but here the desert was a pre-packed sandwich ice cream, which was almost tasteless and pretty much canceled the good experience we had until that point. Moreover, immediately after finishing the desert, the waiter came to ask us to pay the bill, with the pretext that they are changing shifts, and we hurried to pay it without checking it (anyway it would have been challenging since it was written in greek). We later on calculated the total according to the menu on the website, we added everything we had extra that was not in the menu at a resonable price according to the other dishes and we came up short with 3 eur than the actual bill. It is not about the money, it's the the act itself, and unfortunately this was our last interaction with Greece (and a...
Read moreIt was a weird experience to say at least. Starting from what was great - location. The place was completely amazing and beautiful, there have been very few nicer looking restaurants I've ever visited. Following stuff that was average - food. Portions were rather ok in size but quite bland, definitely not bad in any case but could use some more spices. Ending with what was bad - facilities and service. The toilet could really use some renovation. Waiting time for the order to be taken was weirdly long but the thing that took a whole star off of the review was the waitress asking us why we speak with her in English instead of Russian if we're from Poland... If you need an explanation for why that's a big deal it would be kinda the same as if we've asked her why she speaks English instead of Macedonian or Turkish - that's simply a line you...
Read moreThis is the most enchanting place! It's a Taverna with a massive terraced outdoor seating area amongst ancient trees and a spring flowing through it. They've redirected the water of the spring through an intricate system of small channels and hidden pipes to create multiple fountains around the whole terrace. The waiter who served us was super nice and friendly, the food was amazing and was brought super quick, we even got free dessert (delicious traditional cake). It's a bit hard to find, about 5-10 min. from the highway, on the northern outskirts of Neo Petritsi, but absolutely worth a stop (especially after you've spent too much time at the border). Like the name...
