Welcome to my favorite restaurant in whole island. Please do not let 1.3 km unpaved road turn you around. Even if it is unpaved it is still very safe and equal road, no worries. So everyone who came in this island should try goat and cheeses :) we did not try all they have in the menu because it is really lots of items. But we tried plenty of different type food and all is tasty 🤤 so let me tell you the story of the place. Agios Petros is a family restaurant since 2006 and located in the pine forest of Trahi, in balance and harmony with the natural beauty of Skyros island. In this beautiful restaurant you can enjoy traditional greek and local cuisine, both cooked and grilled, with fresh ingredients produced mostly by owners such as meat (lamb, beef, pork and chicken), seasonable vegetables and greens from their garden and various kinds of local cheese (gruyere, mizithra, feta cheese and xi-notiri). And their gruyere was honored in 2007 Gourmet Awards (GOURMET 2006-2007). You can sit outside and inside. But I prefer be outside with standing view of the forest. I HIGLY recommend for dessert 🍨 take their yogurt it is SO GOOD, I ate lots of it and I never ate such a great home made yogurt in while my life!!!!! They serve it with home made marmalade. MUST TRY and...
Read moreIf you wanna eat bad, go to Agios Petros tavern. After spending 7 days in the island eating out excellent quality of products prepared with care, at our last day, and after consulting several different sites suggesting Agios Petros as one of the best restaurants, we decided to try it out. It was a bad choice. The service was - to say the least - unorthodox! First we got the salad and the appetisers, and after some time and a request, we got forks. The food was served and after repetitive requests, we got the refreshments.. All this could be understandable on a weekend on the pick of the seasin, but it was the beginning of summer on a Tuesday! The portion of meat looked generous only to the point where you discover that most of it was pure fat and barely any eatable meat. The dishes were dirty and the quality was low. In sum, there was nothing authentic in this restaurant; on the contrary, it seemed offhand and...
Read moreVisited this tavern after a long day at Agios Petros beach and after having read lots of good reviews about this place. Unfortunately our experience was really bad with the stuff being grumpy and borderline rude and the food average to bad. Among other dishes which were all unimpressive we ordered goat (a plate they suggest themselves) which was completely blant and saltless. We also ordered fava which tasted suspiciously sour. After asking the waitress what is wrong with the fava she replied she would ask the chef and come back with an answer. Of course she never came back and although we explained we were not going to eat this plate ( to avoid food poisoning) they nevertheless billed us for it. Given that there are so many other nice places to eat on the island i wonder how people give good reviews to this place… Never visiting...
