It's a rare treat when a restaurant exceeds every expectation, but Kalamatianos Seafood Restaurant did just that. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a genuine warmth that made us feel right at home. The atmosphere is lovely—elegant yet relaxed, with a beautiful view that adds to the whole experience. And then there's the food. Oh, the food! Every dish was a masterpiece. The freshness of the seafood is unbelievable, a true testament to their commitment to quality. The grilled octopus was tender and perfectly charred, the fried calamari was so light it practically melted in my mouth, and the sea bass was cooked to absolute perfection. The flavors were clean and vibrant, highlighting the natural taste of the ingredients without being overwhelmed by heavy sauces. The service was impeccable. Our waiter was knowledgeable, attentive, and passionate about the menu, offering excellent recommendations that made our meal even more special. The entire staff worked together seamlessly, creating a dining experience that was both effortless and delightful. Kalamatianos isn't just a meal; it's a celebration of exceptional food and hospitality. This is, without a doubt, one of the best seafood restaurants I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. A five-star experience from start to finish. I'm already looking forward to...
Read moreAs you drive along the busy and hot Greek road, you may find the desire (or dare I say need), to seek solace from the sweltering Greek sun. Kalamatianos Seafood Restaurant offers just that, and more!
Located in the homely area Stavros, it boasts a beautiful collection of meat, fish and vegetarian options. Upon arrival you are greeted by a welcoming smile, fresh warm bread and cold water, and a stunning view of the sea. The menu has fish that is caught that day, so make sure to ask “what is fresh” or go up to the counter to goggle and eye up your lunch or dinner of the day (the fish are on display there!). Some classics include γαρίδες (shrimp), τσιπούρα (sea bass) or alternatively Greek Salad and spicy peppers for the vegetarians. Do not dismay if you are wanting a taste of home, the recent addition of Shepard’s Pie and classic chicken nuggets and fries for the kiddos is also available.
After demolishing the food, the dessert menu offers both traditional delicacies like sweet pastries, to more conventional desserts.
Finally, in terms of temperature, the restaurants fans and overcast setup means the restaurant is cool and protected from the sun. Overall, a brilliant...
Read moreI went to this restaurant because it had great reviews. However, I did not have such a great experience. First of all, I was not really impressed with the menu and could hardly choose what to eat. Then I found out the octopus I ordered had been frozen, not fresh. Although it was well cooked on the grill which is why I gave it an extra star. In the end, when I asked what they were charging me for on the bill, the waiter said water...I had to ask again before he told me they also charged me for the bread I did not touch. Then he went back to change the bill but did not come back with the new bill even though he was not busy because the restaurant was almost empty. He was just standing in the back. I finally got up to see what's going on and started complaining about waiting for so long. The other waiter then finally gave me the bill and told me the charge was for bread AND setting up the table, using the plates, etc. He said all greek restaurants charge for this. However, I did not have this experience at other restaurants in Greece. In the end they did take off the charge for the bread that I didn't touch. Although this restaurant has a sea view, the service and the food are...
