Diachroniko — Restaurant in Zakynthos Municipality

The food was delicious, but what I appreciated the most was that they use own or local products. They have their vegetables and wine and addional to that, this was the first place where I had local zakynthian lemons on my plate. What a taste! All other taverns we went to, served lemons and vegetables from Egypt, Spain etc. You can see the difference as zakynthian lemons are green this time, not yellow and the taste is completely on another level. We will recommend this place to all the people, the food is delicious and they support local farmers. This is what we were looking for on the whole island, but found only here, so far. Firstly the restaurant is on the side of a busy road, so traffic noise is constant while you eat.... the wasps were a major issue, we had about 8 flying around us and our food the whole time... the burnt coffee didn't help much.... The meat is awful. The rooster is very tough, chewy and not nice.. Nonas rabbit was also chewy and tough. The chips were the worst chips I've ever had. It's like they were left out for a few hours then banged in the microwave..... The Saganaki was very nice, and the pasta in tomato sauce was actually top tier.. but all the meat that came with it was awful.... Wow!!!!!!!!! Setting is amazing, with mountain views. Warm and welcoming atmosphere. Family run restaurant. Food is traditional and full of flavour. The best food we’ve had yet on this island. I’m a vegetarian and there’s a lot of choice. Grilled courgettes aubergine tomatoes dish, grilled cheese zucchini balls with the best taziki I’ve ever tasted. My husband and son ordered chicken and lamp chops. All barbecued to perfection. Everything reasonably priced. We ate like kings.
