During our trip to Zakynthos, we discovered a small, traditional restaurant that completely won us over. Tucked away in a peaceful, rural setting, far from the usual tourist spots, this place offers a truly authentic Greek experience. There’s no mass tourism vibe here – just warm hospitality and homemade food, prepared with care and passion.

From the moment we arrived, it was clear: this is a place where food is made with love. The homemade lemonades were incredibly refreshing – natural, fresh, and perfect for the warm island weather. We started with Moussaka, a dish we hadn’t tried before but absolutely loved.

Of course, we also had Moussaka – and it was outstanding! Rich in flavor, perfectly seasoned, and full of that comforting homemade quality. For dessert, we enjoyed freshly made waffles topped with Nutella, chocolate, and vanilla ice cream – sweet, satisfying, and beautifully presented.

I don’t even know where to start. If you visit Zakynthos, you MUST go here. They fired up the bbq and cooked on their olive tree wood with their own olive oil (I asked so many questions that the owner / chef was happy to answer) and my fiancé said it’s the best pork he has EVER had. I went for chicken on the bbq and I’m usually so fussy with meat but aye every last drop. The beer glasses were ice cold which were a delight in this heat. I cannot express how much we enjoyed our meal there. The restaurant outdoor area is gorgeous, almost feels tropical and the owners couldn’t have been nicer. We have been travelling around Greece for a couple of weeks and this is by far the best food we’ve had: we thought it was so reasonably priced for all we got. Amazing owners, amazing atmosphere and amazing food. Such a gorgeous family and we had planned on coming back the next night as we loved it so much but weren’t able to - which we are very disappointed about as we were talking about our meal as soon as we woke up. FAGIA Restaurant – A Heartfelt Taste of Greece

FAGIA Restaurant was one of the most amazing dining experiences we had during our time in Greece. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with open arms by Tasso and his wife, whose warmth and graciousness made us feel completely at home. Their hospitality was genuine and unforgettable.

This is a true family-owned and run gem, where everything—from the service to the ingredients—feels personal and full of care. The food was absolutely delicious, made with homegrown products and fresh, local ingredients that you can taste in every bite. It’s the kind of place where tradition meets heart, and the result is a meal you’ll remember long after you’ve left.

The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the love they put into their restaurant shines through in every detail. We left not just full, but truly touched by the experience.
