You wanna talk about a banging place?!? This is it. Hands down.

You need to stop here on the way to Panajachel, non-negotiable. The vibe is great, exceptional service and even better food!

The meal starts off with complimentary broth for each person and an appetizer of sliced carrots with dipping sauces. One sauce is a flavorful red salsa style sauce and the other is an amazing cilantro based spicy sauce. I’d come back just for the green sauce.

We ordered the tacos mexcla and the pork ribs (ask for the new cut). Everything was superb.

Should be a 3.5 perhaps. We stopped here because there was outdoor dining --a good idea in the times of Covid19. For the most part the food was quite good. We had the parrillada for two. The lomito and puyaso were actually very good. The longanisas and the salchichon were pretty good. The chicken however was a bit dry and bland. But what really turned us off was poor to mediocre tortillas. Made from maseca!! What do they take us for?? Pueblo Real es, sin duda, una versión avanzada y refinada de los conocidos restaurantes Hacienda Real. Desde que llegas, se percibe un concepto bien pensado que fusiona lo mejor de la gastronomía guatemalteca con una experiencia estética y ambiental de primer nivel. El estilo tecpaneco del lugar, con detalles arquitectónicos que recuerdan a la Antigua Guatemala, crea una atmósfera mágica, acogedora y elegante a la vez.

Las fuentes están en funcionamiento y aportan una serenidad especial al entorno. Uno de los aspectos más destacados es su jardín orgánico, donde los visitantes pueden cosechar algunas frutas y verduras. Este detalle no solo es novedoso, sino también educativo y encantador, sobre todo para quienes disfrutan de lo natural.

El clima en la zona es ideal, fresco y agradable, y los paseos a caballo completan la experiencia campestre con un toque familiar y relajante.

Mi única observación es que no manejan el menú completo de Hacienda Real. Aunque comprendo que esto se debe a la logística de ingredientes en un entorno más rural, sí se extrañan algunos platos clásicos. Aun así, la experiencia en Pueblo Real es altamente recomendable: deliciosa, diferente y visualmente hermosa. Un lugar para desconectarse...
