It is one of a few good hotels in Guinea. It is not cheep if you think about Guinean as such but comparable to European prices. The hotel offers free airport pick up. I did not have to wait for the pick up, when arrived, which was already a plus. The hotel offers spacious rooms with welcoming drink and hot water in the shower, including shampoo and shower gel. Besides shower, I also had a bath tub. AC is properly working. You can also relax at the pool, water looks clean. The personnel at the reception was helpful and could communicate in English. The breakfast is ok. You can even order an omelet for no additional price. The restaurant is fine, nothing special. A locker on the door in my room was broken. An excursion to the islands close to Conakry can be arranged at the reception but the prices are much higher compared to the port. You can either go alone to the islands for 130 euro or so, if no one else from the hotel wants to join you. Alternatively, you can go to the port and negotiate the price to 70-75 euro, if you wish to visit all 3 islands. I would recommend to stay at Ile Room, two other bigger islands are not...
Read moreWe spent 4 nights at the hotel. The room was comfortable; the bathroom very good. Our room had a balcony looking out on the pool and the ocean. The staff were attentive and polite. The wi-fi worked well. There is a breakfast buffet which has a bit of everything though neither special nor extensive. ||||A particular benefit of the hotel is that it is walking distance to the jetty where boats leave for visits to the islands off Conakry. I understand that one can arrange island tours through the hotel. We were visiting local friends who did it on their own without assistance from the hotel. ||||The hotel is close to the central Kaloum area. But, getting around Conakry is not easy given that a portion of the city, including where the hotel is, lies at the end of a cape. Coming and going with our friends who lived in the Lambanyi area was time-consuming - even apart from the general traffic in the city. ||||Don't be put off by the long, bumpy road leading to the hotel. We were very happy with the Petit Bateau and would stay...
Read moreRooms are very good, bathroom is spacious and the shower is a nice experience. Air conditioning are very nice, service is fairly good, people are very kind and eager to assist you. Kitchen is limited and after a week you will most likely start repeating your menu selection... drinks are awesome, do not go away without trying their Mojito. This hotel restricts pork in any form due to the muslim habit, so no bacon, or pork sausages on breakfast. The hotel is handled by a couple of Cuban directors... There are live music bands and shows during weekends and the pool stage. Security is good. The locals are very nice and gentle people. Internet in the whole country is a joke. If you need internet buy a local ORANGE sim card for (USD1) and place on your phone to add a credit of 31.000 Guinean Francs (USD4) will give you 1.5GB of internet and some local calls during a week or 105.000 Guinean francs plan that will cover you for a month, remember that It is a must you you want to use internet services while outside the...
