You want a true island bar experience with the BEST fresh seafood? You HAVE to go to Hole in the Wall! It’s an iconic bar that has been revitalized by Ed who serves generous pours of drinks and great conversation and Erica takes care to manage the most amazing food coming out of any kitchen on the island. Have her teach you the “Sailors Game” (video included). Hook it on your first try and win a free beer! Salva Vida is the best! Only accessible by water taxi which makes it even more special! Call Marvin to dory you out. He’s got great knowledge of the surrounding area and will tell you about each building or sunken boat you pass! The bar is SUPER relaxed with hammocks to chill on...if you want. We far preferred talking with Ed and Erica...so much so we went back a 2nd time on our week vacation! It’s a “must see/do” on...

nauseating). The fried chicken strips were tasty. The lobster was good. The conch sandwich was tremendously disappointing. That’s where the positives end. The ambience is
Gilligan’s Island meets a MAGA rally. The restaurant is festooned with hateful propaganda that doesn’t merely promote a fascist, their dĂ©cor makes it clear that people who choose not to engage in their toxic politics are not welcome.

It’s bizarre and off putting that an otherwise charming, lazy Caribbean restaurant chose to make Donald Trump its de facto mascot. It sucks that the proprietors chose to elevate their cruel political views over the ambience of the island. With so many great restaurants to choose from in Roatán, this is a definite DO...

It's a waterfront dive bar mostly just reachable by water. I, did, however, hiked there from our resort. Terrain is tough around the place and the trail is basic. I almost wandered into someone's back yard and please be aware of the dogs. Once you get there, however, you will be greeted by cold drinks and friendly staff. Captain Ed is entertaining, to say the least. We struck a good conversation and he had answers for most of my island questions. I didn't get to have food these but enjoyed my drinks. Will be back one day when he fires off the cannon!...
