After a day of ATV fun, running from Pollitily Bight (along a dirt and gravel road that runs between the ocean and homes of locals) to Punta Gorda and back, as well as snorkeling off of Milton Bight, I was treated to a platter of absolutely delicious food prepared by chef/owner, Miss Happy. The offering included crispy fish empanadas (yum!), conch fritters (which, unlike others that taste mostly of bread, tasted of fresh & tender conch), perfectly light & crispy chicken fingers, meat balls served in a rich and slightly sweet tomato-based sauce, and quintessential coconut rice & beans, accompanied by mixed veg and fried plantains. All SO good. This is authentic island food at its best.
The restaurant serves excursion groups, but (as I understand it) also offers food from a roadside stand out in front of the restaurant. Miss Happy, a delightful woman who instantly feels like a good friend or family, also does catering and personal chef work. Don't hesitate to reach out to her to find out how you can best experience her delicious home-style authentic island cooking. I highly recommend, and can't wait for the next opportunity to try more of Miss...
