This is a very popular place, recommended by locals. It was extraordinarily busy today, according to our server. They would have normally closed at 5pm today, but they ran out of most food items by 4pm. Great way for them to start the new year!
There is an upstairs area, which is the most comfortable seating, considering there is more shade there.
Their soups are the most popular dishes from what I could tell. Their plantain chips and pickled onions are quite tasty!
I had a "Plato Mixto," which is battered and fried shrimp and conch. It comes with plantain chips and rice and beans. I loved the dish, save for two areas of improvement: the fried seafood was a little overdone (makes for conch that's a little "rubbier" than I prefer) and the rice and beans were not warm.
I chocked it off to how busy they were and would definitely recommend the place on a regular day. It's possible the holiday got the better of them.
Their version of after-dinner "mints" is a wonderful surprise to help you cleanse your palette...
