Porto Bello Ristorante — Restaurant in Balatonfüredi járás

We were looking for a good restaurant and we found it. Although it is a bit far from the center and at first we didnt know how to get there since it is inside a closed port, we rang the bell and without any problem we entered. Very good treatment with a smile and always trying to do the best possible. We ate mussels which really had flavor, burrata (real !) and tasty meats. The food is not cheap but because it really is that, food, not fast food, therefore if you want quality and a good price it is the best in town. Schöne Lage, gutes Essen – aber übertriebene Servicegebühr.

Das Porto Bello liegt wirklich traumhaft direkt am Balaton, mit herrlichem Blick auf den Hafen und Richtung Tihany. Die Atmosphäre ist stilvoll mediterran, das Personal freundlich, und die Küche ist auf hohem Niveau.

Wir hatten Cozze al vino bianco, Risotto mit Ziegenkäse und Kalbsleber mit Trüffel-Kartoffelpüree – alles sehr gut zubereitet und geschmacklich überzeugend.

Was mich jedoch enttäuscht hat: Die Servicegebühr beträgt 14 % – das ist deutlich über dem in Ungarn üblichen Rahmen (10–12 %) und wurde automatisch verrechnet. Bei einer Rechnung von 124 € ist das kein kleiner Betrag. Die Gebühr war zwar auf der Karte angegeben, aber in dieser Höhe wirkt es leider wie gezielte Touristen-Abzocke.

Ich hätte lieber selbst entschieden, wie viel Trinkgeld ich gebe – und das Personal hätte es verdient. Aber so bleibt ein schaler...

Cannot fault this restaurant for high quality Italian food. The setting by the marina/harbour is beautiful although you may find it hard to find behind yachting buildings with an industrial road frontage. That and some initially confusing Google map directions. Persevere -...
