Promontor Kertvendéglő — Restaurant in Budapest

It is a German Cuisine restaurant, and it seems to be located in Germany residential area of the Budapest. The Restaurant has large seating space, including open outside courtyard for dining, and all of the seating and interior design do give a cozy feeling of the restaurant.

The Restaurant’s menu is excellent in giving reference and explanation of dish contents, and beer and wine on the menu are clearly stated for the size of drink. It has German draft beer and other domestic beer, while its wine is mainly from Etyek-Buda wine district of Hungary.

Food is fresh and tasty with decent portion, but for some customers, a few dishes’ main contents may be somewhat salty when their accompanied sauces are also salty. Later, I learned that customers can request lower salt for their orders.

Food dishes, including salad, generally come with quite heavy plates, and their color and style are quite matching to restaurant interior design.

Because tax is high in Budapest, especially for liquor or beer consumed at restaurant, 27%, thus, in Budapest, alcohol drink or wine price is relatively higher than other countries, although non-alcohol food dishes are taxable for lower 5% for restaurant dining.

The Restaurant has friendly and courteous male waiters, and they are fast in service and are responsive in service and are kind to chat with dinners.

The restaurant provides free access for male and female toilets, with automatic dryer.

Az éttermi hét keretében 2023. március 16-án töltöttünk egy kellemes estét a Promontorban. Kíváncsian vártuk, hogy hozza-e a Grinzing feelinget... Hozta. Nem fotóztunk, ettünk, ittunk és beszélgettünk. :)

3 fogásos menünk és italaink 2 főre: sült kacsamáj saját zsírjában melegen, kovászolt kenyérrel, 1-1 adag; bécsiszelet lapály sertés hosszú karajából, pirított szalonnás burgonyasalátával; vörösboros marhapofa pörkölt knédlivel; somlói galuska; fordított túrógombóc, cukros házi tejföllel; mézes málnaszörpök; Epicuro Primitivo di Manduria Puglia DOP 2020 ristretto, Köszönöm!

Házias és finom ételek érkeztek, tökéletes adagokban. Kedves, udvarias és figyelmes a kiszolgálás, szívesen beszélgetnek a vendéggel, sőt körbe is vezettek minket a teljes vendégtérben.

A beltér tágas, több teremmel, privát térrel és kiváló adottságokkal rendelkezik kisebb-nagyobb családi vagy baráti összejövetelekre is. A külön bejáratú, de a főbejárat felől is megközelíthető épületrészben, a Budafoki Gyorsban napi ebéd menü ajánlat és jól áttekinthető À la carte választék vár.

Az étterem körülöleli a kerthelyiséget, ahol színes izzók, színes fa- és fémszékek, asztalok teremtik meg a klasszikus sörkert hangulatot. Ha must is lesz ősszel, minket megvettek! :)

Mint megtudtuk, az alapanyagok nagy részét környékbeli termelőktől szerzik be. Az italkínálat nemzetközi, de sok származik az Etyek-Budai borvidékről.

EXTRA: Feliratozott palackok jelzik a foglalást az asztalon. Néhány asztalon QR kódot is felfedeztünk, ami az étlapra mutat. Autóval kényelmesen, de ha alkoholt is szeretnénk inni, akkor a Móricz Zsigmond körtérről például busszal is kijuthatunk...

Wasn't sure what to expect as it was a last minute decision based more on the geographic location rather than anything else, but how glad am I we chose Promomtor for our evening out. The food was superb. Mostly dishes with origins routed in traditional local cousine, but with a twist that elevated them from good quality restaurant food/setting to a really delightful and memorable experience. The menu had more than enough choice to cater for our large group with quite different food preferences. Definitely a place I'd recommend, and would gladly go...
