In this section of the country, there is rather little development, just the occasional cluster of buildings forming either a hamlet where people live, or a set of buildings used as accommodations for tourists. This one is a mix of both. You pull off the main highway and drive a km along a road that parallels the main road. Off of this are long driveways to separate accommodations as well as to a tiny hamlet that contains a church, cemetery and a tractor museum. Nearby is also a tiny waterfall. The location definitely makes you feel you're away from things and is quiet although while we were there, it was terribly windy, so much so, it could be difficult to walk if you went against the wind. There were lots of horses around, and while fenced in, could get pretty close to the apartments allowing you to pet them.||||This hotel has a main building with a restaurant, breakfast room, lounge and hotel rooms, then two separate buildings containing the apartments. We stayed in an apartment. These felt felt very new as everything was in good condition, with no visible wear and tear. Each apartment contained a bathroom, a bed room then a separate kitchen/dining room containing a small table, 3 chairs, a love seat, a kitchenette with a small fridge, hot plate, microwave and sink. The cupboards had a small selection of dishes. Except for salt and pepper, there were no other condiments or common items, not even tea or coffee. You could however bum some tea or coffee from the reception. If you plan to cook your own meals, stock up beforehand, as the closest grocery store is a 25 minute drive. There are however gas station convenience stores with a very limited selection about 15 minutes away.||||There are two outdoor hot tubs, with no roof, but a brick wall providing a measure of privacy and protection from the wind which was excessive at 40mph or so.||||The restaurant was quite good, the food was prepared and presented well and the main dining room had character, feeling like a country inn. We stayed two nights and ate there twice. A little disappointed that the specials stayed the same both nights, but otherwise, there was enough variety on the menu for non-vegetarians to not get bored. For vegetarians though, they had a pasta dish, and then the second night, a pasta dish with a different sauce so not so exciting for them. The service was good and the restaurant goes out of its way to provide local...
Read moreThe boutique hotel Anna is a gem, offering a delightful blend of tranquility and exclusivity without feeling isolated. Having frequented this establishment during my domestic travels around the country, I consistently find it to be a noteworthy stop for dinner, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to fellow travelers. The culinary delights and service at the hotel exceed expectations, showcasing the expertise of a clearly professional chef in the kitchen, coupled with an excellent service staff.
During my most recent stay, which prompted this review, I opted for an overnight experience for a weekend getaway. As a local resident, choosing this hotel speaks volumes about its appeal to those familiar with the area. I was accommodated in a charming small apartment, housed in a separate building from the main hotel. One notable feature was the inviting hot tub area outside. A small suggestion to the hotel owner: consider maintaining different temperatures in the two tubs to provide guests with the option to choose their preferred warmth.
The hot tub area, overall, was a highlight of our stay. Enjoying a late-night soak, gazing at the stars and catching a glimpse of the aurora, added an extra layer of magic to the experience. The attention to detail in creating such serene spaces truly enhances the overall charm of the hotel.
Come morning, the positive experience continued with a good breakfast. I even captured a video of the beautifully set table. Despite a relatively low number of guestsâapproximately six people in the dining area during our breakfastâthe selection was impressive, showcasing a variety that surpassed expectations. It's worth noting that our visit occurred outside the tourist season, contributing to a more intimate and peaceful ambiance.
As a local individual who frequently travels solo, this review reflects my genuine and uncompensated experience. Boutique Hotel Anna has consistently proven to be a top choice for an enchanting escape, and I look forward to returning to this charming establishment...
Read moreWe had a very bad evening last night. We were served one main course and no drinks and then nothing else came out for 10 minutes or so with no explanation. After having to wave at the waiter across the restaurant for five minutes, which was very embarrassing, he finally came to talk to us. He had forgotten about our order entirely. They brought out the drinks order and other mains about 15 minutes later. The original main was already cold.
After complaining, we were offered a free additional drink. We didnât accept this since we already had enough drinks. They wouldnât give us one of the drinks we had already ordered free for some reason.
The food itself was ok but we were a bit too upset to enjoy ourselves at this point. When it came to pay the bill we had to wave and call to the waiter again just to pay because he wasnât attending to us at all. This took another 10 minutes to get his attention. At this stage we had already been in the restaurant for 2 hours and just wanted to leave. At the moment we had to pay I got a brief apology and some kind of desert given to me in a...
