when you arrive, there are multiple ways to enter the restaurant

we walked upstairs to the 2nd level, and we were greeted right away

everyone working at this establishment was very kind, the food came out fast and was served hot

for what it is, this is a great place to get a bite to eat or have a drink

we decided on burgers since we had been driving all day and did not eat much

we also shared the seafood soup - which was phenomenal - it had a slight curry flavor with large pieces of fish and some small prawns

as one of the only restaurants in the Búðir and surrounding areas, there were a number of locals coming in and out

the pizzas seemed to be very popular, we saw a lot of people walking out with pizza boxes while we were dining

if staying in the area, give it a shot - the only other options are either at fosshotel or at a gas...

I don't normally write reviews, but I had to make an exception for this. If you weren't paying close attention you might just drive right by - almost unmarked, it sits perched by the fjord, and could almost be mistaken for a home. The husband/wife(presumably) duo that run the place are amazing - filled with energy and jokes. The wife cooks the best seafood soup this side of Iceland - so legendary that a man is rumoured to have driven all the way to Reykjavik and back just for one portion. The husband entertains you with jokes and stories that keep you ask hooked as the fish in the fjord. Can't recommend this...

The "Joe's favorite" was incredible. The garlic sauce and the bread were the best combination I have ever had in my life. The flavor was subtle despite the fresh garlic cloves that were in the sauce. Well worth the money, I would recommend getting an order of the fries in addition to your meal. They are flavored very well with little salt. The 4 stars is from the fact that the crab was artificial crab meat, not fresh from the ocean like I was hoping. Despite that they still created a fantastic meal and a very inviting atmosphere. Our waitress was very kind and helpful with recommending...

Saved me (from being extra hangry!) Charming little restaurant with fantastic view of the harbor. Came on a quiet day in early April and were able to enjoy the place and view to ourselves! Amazing, AMAZING soups! We ordered the #4 burger with a fried egg and mushrooms, the soup of the day (winter mushroom), and the seafood soup. The soup was chopped full of fresh seafood and flavor! The burger was the perfect pick-me-up. It came with a toasted side of bread and butter which was a happy and warming surprise. Quaint interior with an old charm. Clean bathroom!

Let’s start by saying that none of us are big fans of fish soups. For this reason, we took two seafood soups for two couples and we were delighted! Slightly spicy and creamy, with coconut milk and large pieces of fish and shrimps - in short, each of us regretted that we didn't have it exclusively and had to share it. It’s worth visiting just for this reason. Additionally, we tested lamb chops, which were also great thanks to their tenderness and marinade. A menu item that can still be improved is pizza. To sum up, it was a pleasure to take a short stop here!
