This cafe is one of the only places close to Troll Expeditions (Glacier Hike experience) where you will find a bathroom. They open at 10:00 though, so if you go on an earlier expedition, you won't be able to stop here for a coffee until after. We stopped here twice during our drive back and forth in the area. The sandwiches are really good for a quick meal. They also have soup and pastries. Unfortunately I was starving both times and didn't think to take any photos haha!
I did however take photos of the Arctic terns nesting just outside in the field beside the parking lot. They were so pretty. We stumbled upon this place by pure chance while driving towards the glacier, and what a find it was! I had heard so much about the famous soup at Pakkhus Restaurant and even went there to try it, but let me tell you—this soup is thousands of times better!

I loved every single thing about this place—great food, amazing service, and a unique atmosphere. I’ll be dreaming about this soup for years to come! Don’t miss it if you’re...

Our immobilized behemoth of a van put their only working pump out of commission, and I clearly felt very sheepish about the entire ordeal. But both Pete and his other colleagues at this incredibly charming gas station/coffee shop calmed our nerves and made us feel more than welcome. The latte was the best I've had yet in Iceland, and their brownies are to die for. It was an exceptionally comfortable and warm place to wait out the repairs, and despite my repeated apologies, they never once made us feel like an inconvenience. I hope someday to have the opportunity to return, ideally under much better...
