The cafe's charming decor, with its cozy seating areas and delightful color palette, created a whimsical and cheerful ambiance. Every corner was tastefully adorned with cute and unique decorations, making it a visual treat for the eyes. It truly felt like stepping into a storybook setting.

The menu at this cafe restaurant was equally delightful. They offered a wide range of delicious treats, from delectable pastries to savory sandwiches and refreshing beverages. Each item was carefully crafted with attention to detail, and the flavors were simply out of this world. I couldn't resist trying their signature dessert, and it surpassed all my expectations. It was not only a feast for the taste buds but also a work of art.

What truly set this cafe restaurant apart, though, was the exceptional service and the friendly staff. The team went above and beyond to ensure that every customer felt valued and well taken care of. They were attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about their offerings. Their warm smiles and genuine enthusiasm added an extra touch of magic to the overall experience.

The cafe restaurant also paid attention to the little things that make a difference. The cozy seating arrangements, soft background music, and well-placed lighting created a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere. I found myself lingering longer than planned, savoring the moment and soaking in the lovely ambiance.

Overall, my visit to this cute cafe restaurant was an absolute delight. It was an escape from the outside world into a haven of coziness and happiness. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone seeking a memorable dining experience filled with charm, incredible food, and genuine hospitality. I cannot wait to return and create more cherished memories in this...

We choose Freya as we just visited a nearby waterfall. The restaurant was just over half full with 1 group of 10 People already there. When we arrived nobody told us there was a wait or delay. We went in for a quick meal in between stops. We were put at a table and got our menu's instantly. It took around 20 minutes to take our order: a hot dog with fries and grilled vegetables on a piece of bread. After around an hour wait we saw the big table being served. We thought a small wait was logical. An other table of 4 arrived and sat next to us. Suddenly the waitress came to our table and asked if we had our food already. We told her we didn't and she went to the kitchen. Without any further communication we waited and waited. The waitress never gave us feedback and the person in charge looked like she wanted to avoid eye contact. Suddenly after a total 2 hours wait we saw food coming out of the kitchen again, only to see the table of 4, which arrived an hour later than us, to be served their food. At this point we just decided to leave as we only have 8 hours of daylight for our plans and we didn't want to spend more than 2hours waiting for a hotdog and a slice of bread with vegetables. We went to the bar to pay for our drinks and leave and the person in charge acted like she knew from nothing. She even doubted the fact that we didn't have food when we wanted to pay for the drinks. No apologies were made as we left. Don't visit this restaurant of you want to see a bit of Iceland. Mistakes can be made and it isn't always easy in a restaurant, but the waitress and person in charge didn't act to fix their wrongs, didn't communicate and left us with a very bad experience...

A lovely café located in beautiful surroundings, inside the Transport Museum at the Skógar Folk Museum and only a short drive from Skóafoss, one of Iceland's well known waterfalls.

Nicole, who runs the café, is a talented pastry chef and makes yummy homemade cakes and fresh pastries & bread daily ... that I think her visitors truly appreciate ... together with good coffee & other beverages. 👍😋👍😍👍 There are also sandwiches & other savory daily offers on the menu that include generous servings of delicious vegan soups as well as a hearty traditional Icelandic lamb/veggie soup; all served piping hot 😋😊😋 ... just the way I love them ... and accompanied by freshly baked bread with butter ... the Icelandic way! 😊

The service is friendly and prices very reasonable for the quality and generous portions! Last but not least ... there is plenty of parking spaces outside the building... and it's wheelchair...

The restaurant is colocated with the Skoglar Museum. However, even if you have no plan to visit the museum, take a detour and have lunch here. The restaurant is decorated in a vintage romantic fashion, with tablecloths, candle stands and gold silverware. The waiter is charmingly courteous. Best of all, the food was delicious. We had the lamb soup and leek and potatoes soup. Both were seasoned perfectly and came with bread and their home made butter. The best is yet to come so save room for dessert. We ordered the French Toast and it was out of the world good. Soft French toast topped with banana froster sprinkled with some sea salt, freeze dried berries, and cookie crumbles and a scoope of ice cream. They also have many amazingly looking fruit cakes and tart to choose from. Note: the restaurant does serve tour group so make a reservation ahead to ensure you have a table available during high season.
