Food was good but expensive, but don't come here if you want to be served by a very very rude waitress who doesn't care about what you want and doesn't check on you. My boyfriend was in front of her while choosing what dessert to take and she was on her back the whole time, not even checking what he wanted. Also, I asked for brownies twice, in a very rude manner she told me that "yes it's coming, it's in the kitchen", nevertheless the brownies never came and I left half an hour later with no brownie. But she obviously tried to charge me with that. No sorry from her part by the way. So yeah, maybe myvatn doesn't offer much in terms of restaurants but don't come here unless you want to be mad. We had chance to visit this restaurant our first day at Mytvan lake, kids menu chicken nuggets are not bad, a big portion served with fries and salsa, our child enjoied them even if those are not 'hand made' . We got the soups, and a part the good price I cannot say it was a great experience...lamb soup was only with potatoes and carrots, no erbs, spicies etc...no wow effect . Worst restaurant we’ve been to in Iceland. The service was horrible, the two waiters made us feel like we were bothering them by ordering food from them (we were two families with a total of 8, and other then us the only other people in the restaurant were another group of the same size).
