Had kind of a bad day on Friday 13th of September, so made a last-minute booking, and am so glad we did! There was a special four course tasting menu offer with the option of adding a wine pairing, which we did.
The food was spectacular as was the attentive and friendly service. There was no problem to swap one of the courses due to a food allergy and am really glad of our server's recommendation to substitute with "pasta." That doesn't seem like an exciting starter but it was four perfectly cooked and incredibly tasty ravioli -- could have had it for starter, main, and desert and been really happy!
The wine paring was also really good -- these are not just wines that "go with" the dishes, but that really create something new when paired. No idea how to explain it, but it's like the pairings just make each other sparkle somehow! You can really tell a lot of thought and exerptise went into it.
Overall, a really wonderful experience and absolutely worth the price. What's also great about this restaurant is if you just want a burger, you can also get that. I feel like the menu is really well thought out in that there is something for everyone. You can go four course gourmet, or just get something...

Fengum einstaklega góða og vinalega þjónustu á Brasseri Kársnes, starfsfólkið tók vel á móti okkur og allt flæddi hnökralaust. Maturinn var mjög góður og skemmtilega fram borinn.
Það vakti þó athygli að réttur sem var auglýstur sem Kálfa Ribeye, Milanese er dálítið villandi nafngift. Milanese er aðferð sem á uppruna sinn á Ítalíu, nánar tiltekið frá Mílanó, og lýsir klassískri panerun (líkt og í Wiener Schnitzel) þar sem kjöt er velt upp úr eggi og brauðraspi og síðan steikt þar til það verður gullinbrúnt og stökkt. Þetta er hvorki ribeye-steik í hefðbundnum skilningi, heldur ítölsk eldunarhefð, en útfærslan sjálf hjá þeim var hins vegar mjög ljúffeng. Kjötið var mjúkt og vel með farið, og meðlætið, sérstaklega kartöflurnar, einstaklega vel heppnað og fullkomnaði diskinn.
Drykkurinn sem stóð sérstaklega upp úr var bláberjamojito, sem boðinn var bæði með og án áfengis. Báðar útfærslurnar voru vel gerðar og ljúflega ferskar, en sú án áfengis var sérstaklega vel heppnuð, fallega fram borin, með frískandi sýru og ávöxt sem lyfti drykknum upp fyrir væntingar.
Að lokum voru eftirréttirnir punkturinn yfir i-ið. Banana Split vakti sérstaka ánægju, klassískur og ríkulegur réttur sem lauk máltíðinni á fullkominn hátt.
Heilt yfir: góð upplifun, notalegt andrúmsloft, metnaðarfull útfærsla á mat og þjónustu, með smá tillögu til veitingastaðarins um að endurskoða nafngiftina á réttinum, Milanese.
