The café is located inside a modern glass-walled building, which unfortunately creates a greenhouse effect on sunny days — it can get quite uncomfortably warm, especially when the sun is shining directly in.
The food options are fairly limited, mainly consisting of a few pizzas and soups. On our visit, the soup of the day was a traditional Icelandic stew featuring lamb cubes, swede, carrots, and some rice. It was served with a roll and butter, and while hearty, felt a bit overpriced at around 1,900 ISK. It is self service with payment before food is given out.
Overall, it’s a quick and easy spot for a bite, with food that’s decent but nothing memorable. The interior is multifunctional — combining a café, gift shop, bookstore, and tourist information centre all in one space. Handy if you’re stopping by for info or souvenirs, but not ideal for a relaxed...

We came here not expecting anything but left quite happy and refreshed.
The staff was helpful and friendly. Their Traditional Meat Soup was all lamb, as expected. We've had a lot of lamb soup since we came here since we saw all the sheep roaming the fields and they were all let downs. This was the only place where the soup was enjoyable and didn't seem like they served us soup out of a can.
