Someone stole our gopro hero 7 camera from our room Please donot book your stay at Symphony Samudra. We planned our stay with symphony at Port Blair, Havelock & Neil and paid over 50K for our stay and in return the hotel house keeping staff served us by stealing our camera. It was the worst experience staying at this hotel. The day we returned back to hotel from Ross Island, it was heavily raining so I kept all the belongings to dry on dressing that was just near to room entry door and went to take shower. Meanwhile the house keeping staff (1 lady & a teenage girl) came in for cleaning. My wife was in the room. She kept an eye on the lady who was grooming and the girl was making bed and clearing dustbin coz of which she was few times going out n coming back in room so she cudn’t keep an eye on her all the time. Then after sometime there came 1 more lady from staff and started helping them and took the cups out and she also got out of the room and came in few times…. After they left, we did not realised that our action camera Go-pro7 was missing from the dressing. And since we had a rough day due to heavy rain we decided to pack next morning before checkout. So, next morning while we were packing we noticed that we lost our camera. We informed the hotel security and manager. They got our room and all our stuff checked thrice but couldn’t find it. We then logged a complaint in police station and since there was nobody else who got in the room except those 3 ladies from house keeping so we were sure about suspects. Police investigation started with the video of the hotel entrance where it was clear that we were carrying the camera with us when we entered the hotel. The next step was to check the lobby camera to captures who all went in and out of the room but the so called reputed hotel Symphony Samudra which claims to have more than 100 cameras in the property did not bothered to put a single camera in the lobby. May be that’s how they support the hotel staff to steal and risk the security of guests in the hotel. The investigation is still going on but there is no lead. We being the tourists couldn’t afford to stay there for long as it seems the investigation will go for forever as the police claims that they have solved many such cases and have returned belongings of tourists before but as per our experience it seems like they are tortillas from same plate. We returned back and have no hopes with police. We would suggest you all to not to opt for this hotel or else, be very very careful regarding your stuff. These guys are pro cause if the staff can steal when the guest is in the room so who knows what can happen...

Symphony Samudra Beachside Jungle Resort – A Grand Stay Amidst Nature ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Symphony Samudra is one of the largest and most expansive properties in Port Blair, nestled between the jungle on one side and the beach on the other. Spread across a huge area, the resort offers plenty of rooms, open spaces, and a serene environment that blends luxury with nature. Its location is also quite convenient—just a short drive from the Port Blair Biological Park and about 22 km from the airport (roughly 45–50 minutes by car). The drive itself is pleasant, with peaceful traffic compared to mainland India.

The resort’s infinity swimming pool, right beside the reception and overlooking the distant sea, is easily the highlight of the property. There is also a private beach around 500 meters away. While the beach is not very well maintained, it does offer privacy and seclusion—a rare treat in Andaman.

The rooms are large, clean, and surrounded by water bodies, giving a calm and refreshing vibe throughout the stay.

When it comes to food, you won’t find any restaurants nearby, so the in-house restaurant is your only option. Thankfully, it’s a huge dining space with a decent variety across South Indian, North Indian, and Indo-Chinese cuisines. During our 3N/4D stay, we tried almost everything—both from the à la carte menu and the lunch/dinner buffets. While the buffets were good (though not very lavish), the Indo-Chinese dishes really stood out—their fried rice, chilli chicken, and honey-glazed chicken starters were flavorful, fresh, and served in generous portions.

Special mention to the staff—Deepak, Mr. Singh, and the entire team of waiters—who were consistently polite, humble, and attentive. They ensured every request was handled with care, and their genuine hospitality made our stay extra comfortable.

The resort also has a well-stocked bar, and to our pleasant surprise, the prices were very reasonable—even comparable to Bengaluru standards.

⸻

Verdict: Symphony Samudra offers a blend of nature, luxury, and great hospitality, making it an excellent choice for those who want to stay away from the city crowd and relax in a peaceful jungle-beach setting. While the private beach could be better maintained and dining options are limited to the resort itself, the warm service, big rooms, excellent pool, and flavorful Indo-Chinese food make up for it. A strong recommendation for families, couples, or groups planning a...

It’s a wonderfully located & huge property. Has pool, spa, bar & restaurant. But the staff is slow. They’ve not yet touched the 5star standards of service (although the prices are such). We took the spa at the last evening over there. The towels were wet & we refused to use it for change. The masseur told us it’s soggy wet coz of ac (strange). There wasn’t any background spa music, post sunset they should put music as there won’t be any birds chirping. So it didn’t feel very 5star again. The masseur were okay. Price for 45mins of deep tissue massage was 3k +18% gst +5% service tax. Breakfast buffet starts at 7am, upto 10am. The spread was good & we had South Indian, one North Indian & one continental option apart from the breads & fruits & beverages. But here again, lack of professionalism by staff. At 9am when we entered it was not as crowded, by 9.15am there was a rush. And one could tell the staff lagged behind in service. We asked for omelette which took 15mins to be served, while the waitress served omelette to others who walked in after us. Another disaster to happen was the small metallic thread that I chewed on my pasta. I took it out on my plate n let the waiters know & inform the chef.(pic attached) However, they did not apologise nor did the chef see me. Lack of service etiquette? The day we checked in, I had requested at the front desk to give me a small cutting of the plant called “birds of paradise” to take back with me in flight. They’d agreed. But while checking out when I asked about it, the FO guy refused first then he remembered but another manager lady in blue said it’s not in their hands and depends on the gardener’s wish. She informed me that I could get it for 5₹ from a nursery outside. Ofcourse I would pick it outside, but this is just a case of ignoring & forgetting a guest’s request that u first accepted to. I have gotten cuttings from international destinations without any lame excuses given. Just goes on to show how much effort u put into making ur guest feel special. To whoever is the owner of the resort, I would request you upgrade the soft skills of your staff to five star level, in order to justify the property’s worth. Thanks...

General Review: A 3 star hotel with beautiful views, the rooms are comfortable and the in room dining and breakfast is good. It does not feel like a 5 star as they proclaim and they have to improve their communication and have policies they can enforce. Detailed review in parts: Location: This is located near Chidiya Tapu which is 26 kms from Port Blair/ Airport. The return expense for a private cab will amount to 2500-3000. We weren’t aware of this pout. Just putting it out there incase you think it’s in the “city”. There are no other points apart from the sunset point which is very beautiful. The resort is located closely and this sunset point is at walkable distance. Rooms: We chose to stay in a tenement sort of room however this was at the 2nd floor and there is no elevators to get there. So ensure your not old/lack of knee strength. Additionally , the walkable gradients are unusually heavily inclined for walking. Pool: The Pool is at the entrance and open 9 to 9. There are shower rooms closeby. However, there is no enforcement from the management to ensure everyone getting in takes a shower first. People enter fully clothed with no restriction whatsoever. An earlier review mentioned this before we landed here and we thought this would have been addressed after that review. But no, it’s still a sweat bath. Disgusting. We had to get out soon after other people got it. After complaining to the management, it was funny they mentioned that a lot of locks come in drunk so they can’t enforce it, however there was no attempt even made when 4 fully clothed women got into the pool. Spa: Soon after we reached, we wanted to unwind and the reception mentioned there’s a Spa. As excited we were, we kept trying to call the Spa but no one picked up. After much frustration, we go to the reception only to know from another receptionist that’s it’s closed for the time we were there. (Don’t forget walking up and down the stairs each time!)There is no communication among their own peers. Rather stupid for a 5 -star! Overall, the hotel is beautiful, with some active changes to their policies and communication training to theirs staff, it will be a can be a good place to stay.
