We (a family of four – Dad, Mom, Son, and Daughter) visited Skyview Resto Lounge, located above Tanguturu Toll Plaza on the Guntur-Chennai Highway, during a Monday lunchtime. The ambiance was pleasant, and the crowd was moderate. Initially, we were pleased with the attentive service – the staff quickly responded to our request for water and took our order promptly.
We ordered 3 Veg Thalis, 1 Special Veg Fried Rice, and 1 Manchurian. The thalis and Manchurian were served initially. However, the experience took a disappointing turn when the Special Veg Fried Rice was mistakenly served to another table right in front of us. What followed was concerning – when the other guests informed the staff it wasn’t their order, a staff member took the dish back from their plates, walked into the kitchen, and then returned it to our table, assuming we wouldn’t notice.
Upon questioning, the staff initially denied the incident but later acknowledged the mistake. Despite our discomfort, we were asked to accept the same dish, which we politely refused. We placed a new order after waiting around 30 minutes, and the different fresh dish was finally served after an additional 15 minutes(45min in total).
In any restaurant, particularly one in the hospitality sector, basic hygiene, food safety, and customer respect are non-negotiable. While we understand mistakes happen, how they are handled makes all the difference. Initially, the manager did not acknowledge the issue even after witnessing it, though he did eventually apologise after discussions.
