Over the years, Zupra Cafe has been a favored destination for many, but recent experiences indicate a significant decline in both service and food quality.
The resort's infrastructure continues to expand, and its breathtaking views remain a draw, especially during breezy evenings. However, our recent dining experience revealed a concerning decline in food quality and service.
A variety of dishes were ordered, including pork Schezwan fried rice, chicken fried rice, Dragon chicken, chicken chilly, French fries, Hakka noodles, and watermelon juice. Unfortunately, both fried rice dishes were extremely dry and bland. Typically, fried rice is served with soup, but none was offered, and attempts to order soup separately were unsuccessful due to unavailable chefs.
To complement the dry fried rice, we ordered chicken chilly. The gravy was thick and savory, but the flour coating on the chicken pieces was over-fried, resulting in an excessively crispy and almost burnt taste. The Dragon chicken, though slightly dry, was palatable and paired well with the French fries, which were standard but enjoyable with mayonnaise and tomato sauce. The Hakka noodles were well-cooked and thoroughly enjoyed.
The watermelon juice was particularly disappointing. Despite assurances of freshness, it had an artificial syrup aftertaste. When questioned, the staff admitted to adding syrup. Moreover, the price was exorbitant for a small serving of no more than 150 ml.
This visit marked my worst dining experience at Zupra Resort, indicating a consistent decline in quality over my past visits. It follows a common trend seen in many local establishments: an initial period of high-quality service and food that deteriorates as customer numbers increase.
While Zupra Resort's scenic beauty remains undeniable, it can no longer compensate for the subpar dining experience. Unless there's a concerted effort to improve food quality and service, it's difficult to recommend Zupra Resort based on its current standards. One hopes that management will recognize the need to balance expansion with maintaining the high standards that initially built...
Read moreZupra Restaurant, nestled by the serene Noa Dihing river in Miao, Arunachal Pradesh, offers a delightful dining experience worth savoring. The picturesque location alone sets the stage for a memorable meal, as the gentle sounds of the river and lush surroundings create an idyllic atmosphere.
The menu features a diverse array of local and regional dishes, skillfully prepared and presented. I particularly enjoyed their bamboo shoot curry and the river fish fry, which were both bursting with authentic flavors. The ingredients tasted fresh and locally sourced, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to each bite.
Service at Zupra is warm and attentive, with staff eager to ensure a pleasant dining experience. They were knowledgeable about the menu and happy to accommodate special requests, which added a personal touch to our meal. While the food and ambiance were exceptional, the restaurant could benefit from a more extensive beverage menu. However, this minor shortcoming did not significantly detract from the overall experience. In summary, Zupra Restaurant offers a harmonious blend of delectable cuisine, friendly service, and a stunning natural setting, making it a must-visit for anyone traveling through Miao. A well-deserved four-star rating for this riverside gem. Great place, can't resist the ambience...
