Anuraag Dhaba, located along NH-37 in Borghat village near Nagaon, Assam, is a popular stop for travelers journeying between Guwahati and Kaziranga National Park. Renowned for its authentic Assamese cuisine, the dhaba offers a warm and family-friendly atmosphere.
The menu prominently features traditional Assamese thalis. The vegetarian thali includes rice accompanied by various sides such as dal, papad, mustard chutney, fried banana fritters, and lightly cooked greens. Non-vegetarian options like duck cooked with black pepper and green chilies can be added separately. Diners have praised the flavorful and fresh preparations, noting that even children enjoyed the local dishes.
The dhaba is known for its prompt service, with meals typically served within 15 minutes. Traditional Assamese hospitality is evident, with meals served by women dressed in mekhla chador, enhancing the cultural experience.
While many reviews highlight the delicious food and reasonable prices, some patrons have noted that certain dishes, like chicken, are priced higher compared to other local eateries.
Anuraag Dhaba operates daily from 7:00 AM to 10:30 PM, making it a convenient stop for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The establishment also provides washroom facilities, though cleanliness has been noted as an area for improvement.
Overall, Anuraag Dhaba offers a genuine taste of Assamese cuisine, making it a worthwhile stop for those seeking an authentic dining...

The best place to grab a quick lunch enroute from Guwahati to Kaziranga located on the main road along NH-37 near Nagaon, Assam.
The uniqueness of the restaurant is that the service staff are ‘All-women’ gracefully clad in traditional attire and serving customers politely with a smile. The service is impressively quick and their attentiveness is impressive, frequently checking in for extra rice or sabzis without you having to ask despite heavy crowd during lunchtime.
We ordered for the traditional Assamese vegetarian thali which included rice with assorted veggies like ladies finger, brinjal, beans, greens alongwith papad, fried banana fritters, chutney, sambar and dal. Meals is unlimited and we can ask for additional serving of rice or any sabzi. The food tasted simple and delicious—just like a home-cooked meal, perfect for families traveling with kids.
We also ordered for chicken curry which was well cooked with good portion enough for two but considerably very expensive. Plenty of parking available. Washrooms are functional, but cleanliness needs improvement.
Overall, would definitely recommend Anuraag Dhaba for anyone travelling on the highway for a quick pitstop seeking a fulfilling, hygienic...
Read moreVisited for lunch and had ordered Assamese Veg thali and omlette.. Presenting the thali, it looks that we the Assamese people have only varieties of dry sabjis in our meals. Representing this as an Assamese Veg thali that contains just a spoonful of 5 different dry fried sabjis of beans, pointed gourd, okra, potatoes and raw bananas (3 pieces as shown), it would be injustice to Non-Assamese people who visit the place to have authentic Assamese food. Even the 2 bowls of dal were half filled. Nevertheless, they asked for refill of everything lateron, but it would have been better to serve it full at first itself (no refilling might be there lateron). They served a papad and a tangy chutney in a very small amount as shown. I feel an authentic Assamese veg thali must contain atleast a pitika, khaar, dry fried sabjis, veg torkari, bor, etc. Only then it represents true assamese roots.
Overall, i feel the place is over-hyped if this kind of veg thali is served. Don't know much about their Non-veg items, so won't comment on it. (I hope this criticism is taken in a positive way and changes are made to uplift the...
