House Of Spirits — Restaurant in Assam

This review is the 2nd review for this location where I had decided to give this place a 2nd opinion on 11th/08/25 we reached at around 9.20pm and had a birthday celebration to attend but we were literally chased away by a few attending staff and a tribal cook to leave as soon as the last order time closed on 11th but my original complaint was that we had a bill amountinf of around 10,000 rps which is very significant and deserving of a little respect for the customers as we had few drinks left to consume and were willing to leave by 11.30 and 10k is not an small amount for any reasonable indian. But we were forced to leave by 11.20 with no proper management staff available to reason with and also if at all in jorhat you are willing to spend said amount of money better options are available or options which will show respect to the amount you'll spend. We were denied dinner orders too at 11pm since alcohol orders closed at 11pm. First off... I literally rode there in rain with my partner & bam... The security says no shorts allowed! And mind you these were proper six pocket ones. So are we going back to British era slavery now? Thankfully I was not going to spoil my mood so I purchased Levi's jeans from the mall above 😂 talk about expenses!

Upon entering the place... It was empty with like two blokes having some beers at the bar. And I kid you not... One of them was wearing chappal! The rule said no shorts and flip flops. So I guess for some locals it's allowed.

Anyways third disappointment... We only have limited snacks menu which they said was special... Really nothing special about it. Even did not have all the beers.

We ordered some cheese wontons... Which weren't wontons. They were more like cheese balls 🙄 the service was a bit here and there... I even overheard the chef outside asking for someone only to be replied that he's been off for a week 🤣🤣🤣

I came here with high expectations... But we only got served the other. Won't be coming...

It's basically a lounge bar attached to the Manor Jorhat hotellocated in Tarajan area of Jorhat along the Assam Trunk Road. House of spirits is quite a lively place to hang out with friends and colleagues. The interior is plush and very well decorated with a lot of space to move around. The extra space in the bar is utilised during the DJ nights which host a lot of people to dance on the floor. DJ nights are organised four days a week- Friday through Sunday. No kids are allowed in the bar not even during DJ nights. The staff attending to the guests are very polite and helpful. They tend to every need of the guests. I lilked their conduct and behavior. The menu is diverse and almost all the items mentioned in the menu are available for order. I personally liked Afghani chicken kabaab. Overall, a very nice placed and highly...
