Visited here after going to a Pelican restaurant which is the place that tourists sem to get recommended by everyone. Restaurant was quite comfortable and well kept. Enjoyed the meal. We ordered a veg thali and a chicken dish with banana flower and fish in a mustard gravy. As we wanted to try local food, asked the young lady who was taking our order for recommendations. Sumi, the young lady, was spot on as we thoroughly enjoyed the dishes. She is surely one of the most helpful and attentive service staff I've encountered. Food was very delicious, good portion size. After a lot of very forgettable local veg thalis during our travel in Assam, really found the food here to be just what we needed to explore more of the assamese cuisine. I especially liked the chicken gravy and the stir fried local greens which was served as part of the thali - outstanding! The service was very good, attentive and prompt. Wouldn't mind eating in this place if I'm...
Read moreCame here for dinner with lot of expectations based on the ratings and reviews. Firstly, the service was quite poor and at times infuriating. We had to ask for plates 3 times to get it, the server used to leave in the middle of tasks - we were ordering and before taking the complete order, he used to leave. He used to get us something from kitchen, we asked for cutlery, we had ask for it and he would again disappear. At one point there was no one in dining hall to ask for water. Now on to the food, ordered assamese thali, chicken dry fry, fish fry, paneer butter masala, soup and chicken sesame. Most of it was just average. Chicken sesame was really bad. If you do decide to go here, have the hot chicken soup thats the only thing i really liked and the cashier has an...
Read moreWas absolutely disgusted with the attitude of the staff. We ordered Assamese Thali, Duck Curry, Fish Curry and Chicken Curry, the nonveg items were great. However, in the Assamese Thali, all the boiled vegetables and the accompaniments were cold. When the waiter was asked why he has served cold food, he retorted that there is no Means to heat up the vegetables. For heaven's sake, it's supposed to be a food joint. You are meant to be able to heat up the food. Next we asked to please increase the fan speed and start the AC, and surprise surprise, they weren't working. Not to mention the dirty furniture. And for all this unprofessionalism, the restaurant earned a cool 1500 rupees. My advice, don't go to this...
