Disappointing Experience at CG 04 â Prioritizing VIPs Over Regular Guests
CG 04 used to be one of my go-to places for family dinners and get-togethers. I had been a regular visitorâuntil last night. Unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired, and the response from the management was nothing short of dismissive.
We had made a prior reservation for a table of ten and arrived on time. The starters were served promptly, and the food tasted good. However, things took a turn when it came to the main course. Instead of rotis, they brought naan. When we pointed it out, they were busy attending to what they called "VIP guests." The owner himself admitted, "We had to tend to them first; I canât do anything about it."
Despite our request to address this, they initially ignored the issue. Then, after keeping us waiting, they took back the naan and promised to bring rotis quicklyâwhich took another 20 minutes. By the time they arrived, our sabzis had gone cold. When we raised our concerns with the manager, all we got was a polite but helpless "Iâm sorry, but I canât do anything about it." If you canât do anything, then what exactly are you managing?
Adding to the frustration, the dining area had poor lightingâso dim that we had to use phone flashlights just to see our food properly.
For those planning to dine here, think twice before making the trip, especially considering how far it is from Raipur. If VIP guests happen to be there, expect to be treated as an afterthought.
This review is purely based on my personal experience, and I hold no personal grudges. However, I believe itâs important to share such experiences so others can make an...
Read moreHad located this restaurant during a random search on Google maps and decided to visit. As compared to the outlets in Raipur for fine dining, I would place this in a decent top ten. Here are the plus and minuses.
Plus
Great ambiance. The water front and walkway designed along the restaurant location was a great setting. To add on to that was the mood lighting and the majestic Mantralay building in the background.
The cusine was different than the usual and the cooks did do justice to the taste. The variety was good and so we're the helpings.
There was adequate meeting and hardly any rush. My visit was during the weekday and that could have been a contributing factor.
The location was far from the busy roads and hence there was hardly any noise disturbing us.
Minuses.
The staff was trained but then lacked the finesse in service to keep up with the restaurant. They tried too much to please but had no clue of the cuisine. Time probably would correct this.
The manager too was quite rude when a few shortcomings in service were pointed out. Had the I know it all air around him.
There were far too many waiters asking if the food was good than their we're trying to get the food across.
The order took unduly long time to materialise. The waiters did not anticipate the accompaniments and refills took time.
Lack of cover would be a limiting factor during day timings and in rains.
Summary.
If you are a food lover who loves to take your girl to a romantic dinner and have the pockets deep enough. This is the place for that.
Wishing you a great evening at...
Read moreVery nice place with beautiful and soothing atmosphere. At the main circle, there are no signs shown to reach the restro..no name no lightings is seen .. We were very confused reaching there.. It's a perfect place for candle light dinner for couples only I guess Because with family and friends, you all go to eat nicely but with very dim lights you can't see the food at all.. You will not be seeing your food at all, O my god it was very difficult to eat in such side yellow lightings and no other light on the table.. We 8 people had the dinner in our cell phones flashlight because they didn't have any other option of giving table lamps or even a Stupid Candle.. Service is very poor because of so much crowd...Every attendent was in very much confusion for the food , whom to give, where to give and what to give.. Delayed service too..We waited for approx. 1 hour for a table to dine..
The taste was very nice, at last the food was worth eating..No compromise with quality, We had Smokey Paneer tikka which was delicious. Butter naan, paneer lababdar and mushroom masala.. everything was tasty..A virgin mojito and masala coldrink.. We asked for finger bowls which came very late and without Lemon đđ Can you believe it.. We really mocked the staff who was serving us.. Finally our hands were dried and they came with lemons and we were done washing..
Very bad washrooms..Bad management..
