I’ve had food at A2B for over 10 years across different cities and countries — including Australia, the US, and Singapore. The brand was once known for its decent food and clean service. But my recent experience at the Attur Thulukannur branch was extremely disappointing and frankly shocking.

First, almost nothing on the menu was available. During lunchtime, I was told that Parotta wasn’t being served. I asked for a chocolate milkshake — they didn’t have that either. The staff then suggested blackcurrant, mango, and pista milkshakes. I ordered blackcurrant, only to be told again that it was unavailable. This kind of confusion and lack of basic stock shows poor management.

To make things worse, the pricing here is ridiculous. A single dosa is over ₹120, even basic juices cross ₹100, and the portion sizes definitely don’t justify the price. It’s one thing to charge premium rates — that’s acceptable if you’re providing a premium experience. But here, you get torn seat cushions with sponge sticking out, an environment that feels worn out, and staff who treat customers like an inconvenience rather than guests.

When you’re charging high prices, customers expect cleanliness, quality service, and at least a decent atmosphere. Unfortunately, this branch feels like a substandard roadside hotel charging luxury restaurant prices — and that’s just not fair.

A2B really needs to rethink the direction it’s heading in, especially if it wants to maintain the reputation...

As a fan of South Indian cuisine, I was delighted to discover Adyar Ananda Bhavan (A2B), a pure vegetarian restaurant that specialized in authentic and flavorful dishes. Conveniently located near the highway, this restaurant was part of a group of branded hotels, making it an easy stop during my long trip.

Upon entering A2B, I was struck by the warm and inviting ambiance of the restaurant. The décor was simple yet elegant, with colorful traditional South Indian artwork and accents. The staff greeted me warmly and showed me to my table.

The menu at A2B offered an extensive range of South Indian delicacies, including dosas, idlis, vadas, and sambar. I decided to try the masala dosa, a classic South Indian dish that is always a favorite. The dosa was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, filled with a delicious potato masala. The accompanying chutneys and sambar were perfectly balanced, adding an extra burst of flavor to the dish.

The service at A2B was impeccable, with the staff being attentive and friendly throughout my meal. The ambiance of the restaurant was also perfect for a relaxing meal, with soft South Indian music playing in the background.

Overall, my experience at Adyar Ananda Bhavan (A2B) was fantastic. The restaurant offered delicious and authentic South Indian cuisine, served in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. If you're a fan of South Indian food or looking to try something new, I highly recommend giving...

Adyar Ananda Bhavan (A2B) is a go-to destination for anyone seeking high-quality South Indian vegetarian cuisine. Known for its consistent flavors and hygienic standards, A2B has built a reputation as one of the best vegetarian restaurant chains in India. The menu is diverse, offering a wide range of dishes, from classic South Indian breakfasts like idli, dosa, and pongal to North Indian thalis, chaat items, and even sweets. The filter coffee is a must-try, offering the perfect finish to a hearty meal. The flavors are authentic, and the food is always served fresh and piping hot. One of A2B's highlights is their sweets and snacks counter. Items like Mysore Pak, Badam Halwa, and Laddus are crowd favorites, and their quality is top-notch. They also have a variety of savory items, such as mixtures and murukkus, which make great take-home treats. The ambiance of the restaurant is clean, bright, and welcoming, making it suitable for families, groups, or even solo diners. The service is efficient, and the staff are courteous, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. Parking can sometimes be challenging at busy locations, but the food more than compensates for any inconvenience. Adyar Ananda Bhavan is more than just a restaurant; it’s an experience that combines traditional flavors with modern dining. Whether you’re looking for a full meal or a quick snack, A2B is always a reliable choice. Highly recommended!

Well, I am writing this review after a pathetic experience. I was going to Bangalore in a cab and dropped here for BF at 9:55 AM. My driver and I first ordered mini tifin and after 6 to 7 mins, we were informed of non availability. Then we asked for Pongal and poori, they said not available. They said only idli and dasai items. Then we asked for one dosai and one onion uttapam. Dosa came and my driver ate. I am still waiting. He finished and left for the car. I was still waiting And food had not arrived. Then I got an idea of some issue in the hotel among the staff and kitchen organiser. I left the hotel without eating anything, after payment for the food consumed by my driver. All this happened in 28 mins time. The following questions to A2B Management: 1. To convey a message of non-available items, why 6 to 7 minutes are needed ? 2. When dosa and Uthappam are made of rice flour and a similar side dish, why Uthappam couldn't be served, even after so many minutes. 3. How carelessly you allow your valued customer to go without eating his BF End Note: Shame on you A2B. You have lost my love and respect.
