Where the world is reviving from the pandemic by offering value added services to its customers, here is a downer on the list that hardly provides any service at all. Their staff really need some lessons on how to be attentive to the customers or their feedbacks. The food was average compared to the interiors this place boasts of. It's kind of an up side Dhaba with a street stall type of food. I am sure the real estate has played a big role for them to price their products so exorbitantly..
We were welcomed by a non working lift. I know there is no lift to success.. but still.. The restaurant is on the 4th floor.. They own 3 floors but there is some work going on in the other 2 floors.. and got to know from one of the staff that the lift is not been working from days. A downer for senior citizens or people with difficulty in climbing stairs especially heavy weight champions like me ;) After a lot of pit stops we finally reached the destination..
The interiors are surely insta ready. The place is well lit with lot of fairy lights and Khatiyas here and there. A good dhaba like seating.
As we sat down and picked up the menu.. There was something very unpleasant about it... Somewhat the color, the fonts of it doesn't really go with the place's ambience. Makes you feel like you are sitting at a Darshini. xpecting some valuable suggestion from the staff on what all is their specialty.. he asked us to try French fries.. I mean really.. I would kill to have French fries at a dhaba.. Hesitantly, we ordered a couple of starters to begin with. Thinking, we would go for the main course if the starters were not the stoppers. And they nailed our expectations. Though the Veg cheesy sticks were okayish.. But, the taste, the presentation was very ordinary for the price you pay. It's like they serve you Kalmi Kababs in the roadside pani puri plate.
Don't be fooled by the people who are going gaga about the Lassi served here in the reviews down.. They are the Nandini Lassi lovers who really haven't tasted the real North Indian or Punjabi Lassi in their lives.
Dunno what made me try their desserts after this not so welcoming experience. May be, I wanted to satisfy my craving for sweet tooth.. so I went ahead again thinking I can not go wrong with this.. AND We got a plate of stale Shahi Halwa in name of Shahi TUKDA.. GUYS TUKDA in English IS PIECE.. please correct your dictionary... The manager seated next to the pay counter turned a dead ear.. yes you read it right.. not deaf ear but dead ear to our feedback.. oh yes and you don't get the check on your table.. you need to go to their counter to pay your bill and you can leave your tips if you really feel tipsy.
Do not waste your hard earned money going there. It's not worth at all... BOKWOSS...
Read moreThree days ago, we visited Kapoor's Cafe in RR Nagar, a well-known café chain celebrated for its delectable North Indian cuisine. Opting for the Dalmakhani thali and the crisp paneer fry, both of which tasted delightful, we ventured into this branch for the first time. service was also fast. Intereiors seems to be good. Fulka was very soft and full of butter. However, our experience quickly turned disappointing and disheartening.
What transpired was quite unsettling. Seated where the kitchen was in full view, after enjoying our meal, we awaited the bill—a customary practice in places offering table service. As I scanned the surroundings, I witnessed an unsettling sight: an individual in the kitchen was seen spitting. Initially, I dismissed it, assuming it must have been an oversight. However, this repeated, prompting me to investigate further. To my dismay, I noticed one of the workers spitting into a dustbin situated in the kitchen area designated for food preparation and heating.
Observing approximately 7-8 individuals among the staff consuming what appeared to be gutka / Pan, I felt compelled to address this concerning issue. Seeking immediate action, I approached the manager seated at the billing counter to register a complaint. To my surprise, the manager's reaction was disappointingly indifferent, as if such occurrences were deemed ordinary and accepted.
The experience was not only disappointing but also concerning, raising significant doubts about the hygiene and practices within the kitchen premises of Kapoor's Cafe. My suggestion is, It might be better not to assign tasks to someone who frequently chews...
Read moreNot authentic Punjabi food. This place is popular only because of its rooftop ambience for selfies and instagram post. For the price they are charging food otherwise is very ordinary and pathetic in some cases. We had ordered Veg sheekh kabab, French fries, Lassi, Masala papad for starters. French fries and lassi was the only better onesof what we ordered. Sheekh kabab which was nearly 300 rs per plate was more like Dal Vada, it was fried. Main course was rather disappointing. We had ordered Chole, paneer lababdar, Kulcha and phulka. We were surprised to see that Chole and Paneer had the same gravy, there was very less chole and too much gravy. Nothing nearly Punjabi here. Both curries tasted bland. If you advertise your food as authentic Punjabi and cannot even make a simple chole properly then what does it tell about you. Then the most surprising thing of the night came when the "Kulcha". This kulcha was not from Tandoor according to our waiter, but he conveniently forgot to tell us it was not even cooked in the restaurant. It was ready made bread sold outside as Pizza base in some shops. We just heated it on tava and served said our shameless waiter when confronted. It was like eating a piece of bread. They charged 50 Rs for a kulcha. The service was very fast. Staff seemed to be nice mostly until you are not complaining about their bland or readymade food. They charged 50Rs for a water bottle even though government rules prohibit that. I asked the manager about the Kulcha and Water bottle. He said kulcha was delhi style and about the water bottle price he...
