There’s always one place which is your safe day when you can’t figure out on exactly where to dine! Like in Ahmedabad, we have Prime Dine, Honest SG Highway, Tomato’s as a safe say as these places will never disappoint and would serve you with the same taste.

Furat is another such place in Gandhinagar. I had heard about it while I visited Gandhinagar often but finally got a chance to dine in.

I went to this place on a Friday night with my family and I must say, they have a suitable decorum for families. Not sure if it was due to coming long weekend or Friday night, the place was entirely full.

Since I was with my family, it was obvious the dinner was the usual one with a couple of main course plates with chapati followed by final meal. The main course Punjabi dishes were delicious. I noticed we had ordered Swaminarayan food but the taste was as equivalent to a normal plate with the onion/garlic gravy! So here, I would add another keyword for this restaurant: A safe Swaminarayan/jain food restaurant.

But with a lot of pros comes a few cons too. I had ordered a cheese pizza which wasn’t nearly good. In fact the taste was quite flat that I couldn’t taste anything but the base. Going by the reviews, it seems like anything apart from punjabi as well main course plates, you shouldn’t risk other plates. I am rating stuff as I had:

Really opposite from most of the reviews, it was one of the worst experience. WORST.

1. We were the last costumers, so they were treating as if theirs was the last food hub in the world. "No starters. Only maincourse. One order at once and all. From Papad to Biryani, place all orders together." -Without knowing the taste, rather our capacity or desire to eat.
2. Food (rare choices) was brought that was already cooked and microwaved.
3. Biryani was poor. We told we didn't like. It tasted stale. The ridiculous response was, the manager himself tasted a spoon of it and popped up, ''It's perfectly okay. This is how a Biryani tastes.''
4. Included this stale and 'not consumed' biryani in the bill.
5. When we complained about the waiter to the manager, he said, '' this is obvious to happen in the last hours of job.''
6. Worst of all, he was a bloody liar. We inquired if they had review accounts on Zomato or Google. The MANAGER said, ''No. We've blocked it.''
